David Cornwell’s statement regarding Jonathan Martin

Funny thing is some of you think this is just a Martin vs Incognito dilemma. A dilemma I have no sides on. The real issue now is the fact that this has turned from a 1 vs 1 to a 1 vs many others. This is going to get ugly.... Real ugly.

I know what you're doing here and all I can say is, if you don't see how his demotion is an interesting point to be considered that impacts how someone views his actions in the broader context of the entire situation, then uhm, good for you.

I know you are responding to a lot of threads and to a lot of people, I don't recall mentioning Martins move to Right Tackle (kind of a demotion?) I say we can view the entire situation in a broader context. To the best of my knowledge I am not trying to do anything here, except maybe ask why so much binary thinking.

It makes me more likely to believe that his behavior is truly driven by the harassment, rather than a different motive, and therefore makes me more likely to be empathic to his experience.

If on the other hand I believe he's possibly up to something, I'll postpone the "empathy" until I have all the facts.

If I am reading you right you are saying coming forward sooner would better support his story, why put the onus on the person that experienced the harassment, it seems to create a false dilemma. The coming forward has no baring on the truth of the claims.

Because the person who's experiencing the harassment, if he's truly experiencing it as harassment, wants it to stop?

If you believe he truly experienced harassment and don't think he should've come forward sooner, then why not also believe he should've never come forward at all?

How much do you wanna bet that the "malicious attack by a teammate" is the little scuffle that happened between Jon Martin and Dion Jordan....but this scumbag, conniving lawyer twisted that

Martin has a lawyer and my guess is Martin has evidence to back up all his claims. The methodical pattern Martin has shown is he has been gathering evidence for a long period of time now.
I am guessing he has some sort of evidence of this "attack". Maybe visual, maybe an eye witness, but I am guessing they'll provide more evidence Sunday evening and let the media run with it all day Monday leading up to our game against the Bucs.

The 1st leak of the voicemail IMO was far far worse than this last thing. No one who hears or reads that would actually think they would do that to their sister. We're talking about a NFL locker room, not IBM's knitting club.

Martin has some very serious personal issues IMO.

If the fight with Jordan is the altercation in question, it doesn't seem like a good idea to bring it up since the team mate that intervened for Martin was Incognito.

The fact he has kept all this so called evidence IMO is what is turning the tide against him. No one believes any more that he was a victim or that he wants to play football again. Victims do not act like this. If you are strong enough mentally to hang in there and gather the so called evidence, you are showing are more than strong enough to seek the help to try and resolve this. It's almost perfectly clear he was not interested in resolving this.

I think it's beyond clear he's looking to get as much $ as he can while trying to burn down the entire NFL because his feelings were hurt.

I wanna know why he has so much evidence? I mean damn who keeps all that evidence from the past unless you had a plan of action in the future. Was he picking and choosing the right time to do something?

Looks like that is the case. Martin is extremely intelligent and seems to be extremely troubled. The result of this combination is unfolding before our eyes.

lol exactly.

REAL victims have a tenth of this evidence, they act on it right away, they don't hold their water.

He may be a real dumb ass IMO.

I couldn't disagree with you more. Whether or not Martin was harassed has zero to do with when or how he revealed what occurred. People stay in abusive situations for a myriad of reasons, calling into question the validity of the abuse based on timing of what you perceive as what you would do is fallacious.

Really? Victims don't act like this, I would be curious why you think that, what do victims normally do in your experience?
