Denver game

Umm screw the Broncos. I seen a bumper sticker in Denver one day it said

"No Elway, No SuperBowl"

God aint that the truth.

I think it shoulda read "No TD, No Superbowl" because Elway never got over the hump untill Terell came.

And damn Terrell was good, I think i have hardly ever seen a guy be so Dominant, I've heard of it, but never seen it. The man was ridiculous.

From a gambling perspective, I can understand what you're saying especially as someone who gambles in casinos and on certain book sites. But I think theres also things like the personel changes that need to be factored in.

They took steps back all over the place. They took on a bunch of underachieving Dl from cleveland no less, and jetisoned their own, which at the very least, helped them make the playoffs. They added Ian gold so while they probably have the best set of LBs in the league, the secondary isnt anything to brag about in pass coverage even with crappy Aj throwing the ball. Factor in a draft where they reached on every pick and its still a bunch of rookie DBs that are gonna be expected to contributed and that D will likely be a mess vs the pass but should be ok vs the run.

Offensively, they could have some success running the ball, Shanny's teams usually do, but you wonder how well a finesse run team like there's will stack up vs a D thats expected to be very physical and improved both depth and starting personel.

All in all i expect an ugly slugfest between 2 teams led by awful qbs.

Yeah, I agree with you. My post was merely a first impression based on the previous time these teams met. That's where my mind automatically defaults in the offseason. By game time, I may have a completely different evaluation, based primarily on the factors you emphasized. Since we agree on the relative merit (or lack thereof) of the QBs, this game will be decided on the line of scrimmage and/or by one or two big plays. It figures to be low scoring with an over/under in the 37 range.

I would caution Dolphin fans not to base our offensive expectations on the final games of last year. That's inevitable, that a team with a disastrous won/loss record and terrible points scored revives somewhat offensively in the final quarter of the season. IMO, it would have happened to some degree even if Wanny had remained. The opposition has no fear of you and lets up somewhat. Likewise, your own defense is weary of the weekly battles without a W, and lets down to some degree. So the games open up a bit. I've charted that trend for years. In the NBA it's so pronounced that sportsbooks stop booking over/unders in the final weeks of the season if both teams have been eliminated from the playoffs. Those games tend to fly over the total with a carefree playground attitude.

I hope things are as rosey as some predict.
I just remember our D-line making Bell look like Terrell Davis.

the backup bench position

If people are judging Clarett on his 40 times, then they should know that Terell Davis ran a 4.69 in the 40 at the combine, Clarett ran a 4.61. Mike Anderson ran a 4.65. And Orlandis Gary ran a 4.67

Times are overrated. Terrell had game speed. Not saying MC will be anything close to TD. But 40 times are overrated and Denver knows RB's. Clarett could be judged on character and everything else, however he is there to prove his critics wrong.

Clarette will be our 3rd running back this year, and next year he will compete to be the next great Bronco back.

Yeah i'll give you, Plummer is pretty dumb. But who says we are going to be throwing every down. We are a running team. Last year, no team ran more than we did with the exception to the Steelers. Our running game is very solid. My point is that we will use many bootlegs and deep throws down the field to make the dolphins cover more of the field. And thats when the running game is unstopable. Last year we ran 200 yards on the phins. Yes your tackles were hurt, but then again they are still question marks going into the season.

Your right about our questiable d-line. But I will say this, that it will be improved from last year, just for the reason we will have Trevor Pryce back after being injured. Warren had a good late half of the season last year. Ekuban had 6-8 sacks in a backup role. Anything Courtney "count me out" Brown gives will be icing.

Now what will the phins do if the runing game is stoped? Which is very possible, b/c we always have a good run-defense. Will AJ be able to handle himself, when the defense knows that he's going to pass? Like I said b4 the same argument can be made for Plummer, but it is less likely that we become a 1-dimensional team b/c of our strong runing game.
If our run game gets stopped we'll be doing the same thing you'll be doing when your run gets stopped...praying our qb doesnt do anything utterly ******ed like throw while taking a sack like plummer did vs kc on opening day or like AJ did vs seattle.

I realize Denver is a running team but I think this is gonna be a lot harder team to run than last year. This isnt bates vanilla front 7; I think youre gonna see a lot of Tebucky in the box stopping the run especially vs a team like denver and dare Jake the Fake to beat us.

Also Warren and Brown are no givens when it comes to run d either. Their whole game is pentration. Warren was never a clog the run tackle; his whole game is getting upfield; he has no discipline and is a perfect guy to see if we can run some counters and trap right at to see if we can let him take himself right out of position. And please, ekuban just blows; hes no better than David Bowens. And what says Trevor Pryce is a 100% when the game start. hes as big a question as Chester is for miami.

Like I said this is gonna be an ugly ugly game imo. We'll see if im right in due time.

Not always. Try Sportsbook.com. I did pretty well for myself there :)
