One thing that intrigued me so much is that people have written Allen (LMAO) and Darnold in as franchise QBs already, yet Rosen basically had the same stats as them last season with wet paper towels for an Oline and wideouts with hands of stone.
I’d like your opinion. One thing that video pointed out pretty hard was he took way too long to make decision on throwing the ball. How often do QBs improve on that? It seems like more of a natural trait than something that’s coached in terms of how much you can improve.I will raise my hand. I watched very little of him in Arizona . . . .but his final year at UCLA I watched every one of his games.
Kids got real talent . . . And it is almost baffling to hear that he struggled so mightily in Arizona (often blaming him instead of what was around him) with many using the Tannehill narrative combined with the sack numbers . . . .and very little actual “watching of the game” . . . To back up their narrative.
Kid is every bit of Phillip Rivers IMO . . . .except for one key department . . . .There is valid concern about him as a leader of men and of him having internal attitude issues . . . .and that cannot be overlooked when you are talking a guy you expect to lead your franchise and your group of 53.
So despite the talent I think he has . . . .that potential lack of leadership trait is enough to sour me on him if it indeed is a factual one.
Truth be told, before Murray declared for football I heard nothing but positive energy with how Josh handled 2018.
We’ll see.
Amusingly, I think Rosen's 2018 season is a good comparison with Tannehill's 2012 season. Good prospect surrounded by a poor supporting cast, with a coaching staff that was in over its head. If anything, I think that the situation would be the opposite; people who slagged on Tannehill would be the first to trash Rosen.
We'll see. I would really like to see the team package some day three picks and bring him in here. Absolutely worth that shot. Compare him to Daniel Jones: Jones was drafted in the top ten yesterday and isn't even close to the throwing talent that Rosen is. And Rosen has shown that he can play the position well outside of just throwing it.
Just the fact that the new coach over there, who seems like a TREMENDOUS d*ck BTW....is so eager to move on pretty much says it all.
I've seen this movie before.... half the fan base hates the QB before he ever suits up and half the fanbase spends the better part of a decade defending his piss poor play.
We simply can't trade for Rosen, it could set us back years and ruin this rebuild before weve even poured the concrete.
But dude, be honest with yourself, once we get a QB we are the most patient team in the NFL waiting for them to finally "break out"They can absolutely trade for Rosen. I know this might give you a version of PTSD, but bear with me:
The difference between this and the Tannehill situation is that Miami will owe him very little money, and won't have to spend a high draft pick for him.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is that they can TRADE for him...but they don't have to COMMIT to him.

Yes Rosen could be traded for with little cost but will we be able to resist giving him 5 years to "break out" before finally realizing he cant hack it.

My issue with Allen is his accuracy is HORRENDOUS. Sure, he makes amazing throws, but he misses an obscene amount of throw me hgh school kids make regularly. He’s terribleDarnold is trash too.
Allen, the jury is still out. But when he finally got the starting job, he made some throws that only top tier QBs like Rodgers make. A very live arm and his ability to escape the pocket will show value.
