Devin Hester wants to play for the Dolphins

If Hester wants to play in Miami for veteran minimum, sign him up.

Come on down. We need better production in the return game.

Hester's going to be cheap and will take a hometown discount on top of that. Get him in here - he's still an impact player on special teams.

The value of versatility can really be overstated sometimes. I'd rather have an elite specialist than a mediocrity who has the versatility to be terrible at multiple positions.

He can play WR, especially if he was the 5th. No pressure on him to be the slot guy or something

Hester would be primarily a returner but an offensive package with Wallace on one side and Hester on another. Either one has single coverage deep or they drop two safeties and hartline,Gibson,Matthews and clay are going to be having field days with how wide open that middle is.

What youre speaking of is the reason I wouldve signed Ted Ginn if we were looking for a return ace.

Ginn not only threatens to break any return, but he can really stretch the field, making certain packages dangerous. He also couldve been the guy to step into Wallace's role should he get injured. The guy caught 5 TDs last season, several of them bombs. Of course you need a QB that can hit throws from 40 yards or more. This might be why we didnt bother checking him out.

If Miami's looking at return specialist why not go with Trendon Holliday? He's younger and better right now than Hester or Thigpen.

Bingo.

If we wanted a big time return man, Sproles or Ginn wouldve been the players to look at. Not only are they explosive in returns, but they bring big play ability to the offense. That way you arent carrying a roster spot for a guy who only returns kicks.

If we want to sign a guy who all he does is return kicks, Holliday is really the only guy that would interest me.

Hester is the best ever and still might have a couple long returns left but i'd rather have one of the two guys WV mentioned.
I think i'd take Teddy who's progressed as a WR deep threat and can still take it to the house every now and then on returns..

Note: the prick probably still steps out of bounds but as a 5th receiver/ return guy i can live with that :idk:

That used to be the joke around here, they would rather a tough guy who runs into walls at the 10 than a woman who gets to the 50 but runs out. so stupid.

Hester is still an elite return man? He has more return TDs than anybody else yes, but, that just means his time is running out. There's a reason the 2nd guy on that list didn't have more....he got old. And just because we sign Hester doesn't mean we'd cut Thigpin. Thigpin simply gives us more than Hester. HESTER CAN'T CATCH!!!!!! No, he won't be a 4th WR. Who you taking time from? Wallace, Gibson, Hartline, Matthews?lol

And has he proven that in the 9+ years he's been in the league thus far? Hmmmmm. I just don't see the evidence of that.
