Did Ryan Tannehill Appear to You to Move Better in Response to the Pass Rush Today?

I counted 4 or 5 plays where there was wide open field he could have run for a lot of yardage. He still does not see the field very well. A running game would really help him

At times, yes, but that sack on the 3 step drop was stupid and he didn't do a very good job on the last play of the game that didn't even have to be if he would have done anything else.

Newton was trash today and they still won, that's what a team win is.

Except the Panthers are more a team then we are. Panthers actually have a running game and a #1 receiver who can make a ply 4th and 10. Unlike Wallace who drops possible game winning catches.

he has been improving in pocket awareness by leaps and bounds for the past three or four games. a few designed QB runs never hurts either. should be a huge weapon for us and isn't (yet).

I liked allowing him to move around instead of standing tall and taking hits.

He was fortunate on one play where he got out of the pocket threw downfield and should have been picked by the Carolina players who ran into each other.

I was there today and he moved very well in the pocket. Let's face...coaching staff was forcing him to stay in the pocket all along, they are now letting him take off when he needs to

This . . . There were several references to that in the preseason from both Tannehill and Sherman. I guess they were pretty serious about it. They didn't really explain why, but I'm guessing it was meant to be a part of his pocket judgement development. It seemed that today they may have finally taken the training wheels off and let him decide on his own what to do when.

So, if we're right, and Tannehill indeed showed better movement within and out of the pocket yesterday, then the question for me becomes how much we can blame the offensive line for the inordinate number of sacks the team has taken this season.

Perhaps the blame is better placed on Tannehill and/or the coaching staff.

I think the staff has tried to avoid letting RT bail the pocket they want him to extend the play within the pocket.

I think that they took those shackles off him Sunday because they knew he would get killed otherwise.

I think the improved tackle play is responsible for his improved movement in the pocket. When your tackles aren't being walked back into you off the snap, it's a lot easier to find room to maneuver in the pocket.

It's also no surprise that his fumbles have all but vanished with Bryant McKinnie in the lineup.
