I have good feelings about this kid.

Dion Jordan, the Dolphins first round draft pick, looked as if he took an air pump and plugged it into his arms and shoulders this offseason. That's how big he looks.
Jordan said he's "a little over 265" pounds now.
"I was definitely too light to go out there against some of those offensive tackles," Jordan conceded.
"This year I had the opportunity to have an offseason where I can take care of my body. I'm trying to move forward and continue to try to better myself in a few areas."
Jordan, who struggled with the rehabilitation folllowing shoulder surgery last year, said he mostly did strength work this offseason. "I'm 100 percent," he said.
Dolphins coach Joe Philbin admitted the team considered using Jordan as an OLB this year but decided against it. To hear the coach explain it, coaches don't want Jordan thinking about covering zone or man when he should be chasing the quarterback.
So he's a defensive end.
Interestingly, former Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor returned to the practice field today to work with the defensive line. Coach Joe Philbin said Taylor is working strictly on a volunteer basis for a while.

He needed that extra weight. Looking forward to seeing him in action this year.

ahh philbin gets it...you don't trade up into the top 5 for drop and man coverage guys...you trade up for win edge pass rushers and pass rushers period...the guys that get you off the field on defense...the hunt the qb

nice...

I am looking forward to seeing him ball as well. I think way too many people on this board have underestimated this guy. Of course I am not 100% sure if he will be a star but I do think that he could be a 9 - 12 sack guy per year with the added weight. We just need to get him on the field now that he's fully healthy.

The NFL.com is writer is pissed that Dion Jordan bulked up. lol. Main reason seems to be because he wanted to see him as a linebacker in the Eagles' 3-4 system. The fact that he bulked up ruins the idea that he can still be traded to Philadelphia.

He won't be as fast in space, but like hoops said, you don't trade into the top 3 to get a guy who can drop back in coverage. He needs to win off the edge and be a high quality pass rusher. He was only going to do that by bulking up.

He should be on everybody's top 3 list of players you want to take that next step.

Yea, he said "So, instead, Jordan's a square peg in a round hole, forced to bulk up to survive at a position that doesn't jive with his natural talents."

But these clowns "write" for all teams so they know none of them. I went to High School with Mike Bianchi ( and he KNOWS he could not write then, not his fault, our HS sucked) but he can tell you that being a sports writer (or a car salesman) can turn you into a mercenary. This guy has no real idea who D Jordon is he is simply respouting crap he has heard. I hate this time of year because all of the "what ifing" etc.

I take it that this "sports writer" has never heard of a player called Jason Taylor. I'm really old so i remember him getting here being fairly small until he "bulked" up to 244 pounds.

So know they are saying that Dion Jordon is 260 pounds plus? IF HE PUT ON THAT MUCH MUSCLE AND KEPT EVEN 90% OF HIS SPEED, HE CAN BE A QB SACKING GOD.

Of course you do, if you run a 3-4...............

Interesting, I was thinking the same about your post. I take it that it is from your "book of quotes" and you were just looking for a place to use it........
