Jordan has a great work ethic that's for sure
I know what you mean, but not really. He is our first rounder from last year that we traded up for. I sure hope he does something this year. It's like having an extra first round draft pick this year

Nice sig!Take this with a grain of salt. Remember at this time last year we got reports that Jordan was 260 pounds. Among other things there are physiological limits to how quickly you can build lean muscle. The upper limit is 20 pounds for an entire year. If you've "gained" more than that, it's water and fat.
Jason Taylor "bulked up" every offseason but he would always lose everything he had gained by the end of the year, when by his own admission he would be flirting with dipping into the 230s. Yet he was able to defend the run and terrorize quarterbacks. As I've said many times on this subject, the weight is only a means to Jordan becoming a better defender. But the main challenge isn't a few pounds. It's his technique. It's his effort. It's his dedication.
Jason Taylor had incredible strength for his weight - not a valid comparison. However, Jordan needed to get bigger and he has. Hopefully his natural speed isn't too adversely affected. We are going to have a pretty formidable pass rush this year.Take this with a grain of salt. Remember at this time last year we got reports that Jordan was 260 pounds. Translation he ONLY worked to gain a few pounds. But didn't spend any or adequate time on his technique, his effort, his dedication!
Got it!

It's amazing how little production we got last year from the rookie class, Dion Jordan flashed a few times early but then disappeared because of the emergence of OV. Taylor and Davis looked lost the very few times they were on the field. Dallas Thomas couldn't get playing time even though our line was atrocious. Sturgis was inconsistent.
Dion Jordan has to step up this year and make more impact plays. I expect him to back up Wake and OV, but get a lot of playing time on 3rd downs. He needs to become a dominant force rushing the passer because he is the apparent heir to Cam Wake who is 32. It's nice to see that he put on weight so he can be stronger at the POA, but I wonder if the weight is sustainable. It is very difficult to put on a lot of weight in such a short time so I worry that he will drop most of it by the end of training camp or even throughout the season. I'm hoping for the best but I'm going to stay cautious with my expectations for now.
