Do the bills scare you?

I saw that you guys were talking about our offseason and from what people were saying it was humorous, but I actually think you guys make some good points both for and against Bills possible success. The one thing that confuses me, though, are the numerous comments about Buffalo's "bad coaching staff" or Gailey being a bad HC. Can someone explain the logic in this?

From what I see, Gailey started us off 5-2, with the only 2 losses being against playoff teams (SB champion NYG and Cincy), by THREE points each, on the road. Then, we lost half of our starters, and Fitz played with broken ribs. We still beat another playoff team (Denver). I think this, combined with Gailey's coaching success with an aging Cowboys team (who were 6-10 the season before Gailey took over, then 5-11 the season after being fired), shows that Gailey is at the very least a decent coach, but I would argue very good to great.

Thoughts?

Looool here we go, baby. The Bills overpay for one free agent and suddenly the Bills fans are crawlin' outta the woodwork.

^^^Ah, you have to have a few of these posters. Every team has them.

By the way, if you mean "out of the woodwork" meaning thousands of posts on my own team's board, and looking for good conversation (of which you are clearly not capable), then yes.

Anyone over 15 or not living in mommy's basement like to respond?

first off welcome to finheaven.
i am from buffalo but teal and aqua run through my vains.i have to admit i am a bit worried that the bills will have a great team this year esp if all there players stay healthy.i started this thread to get other dolphins fans insight on what they think buffalo will be like this year.for the most part many claim as long as fitz is at the helm we have nothing to worry about.not really sure that gailey is your biggest problem but he is one of your concerns.he just has had no success as a hc no matter where he calls home.as a oc,well thats a diffrent story.i will admit i am not one thats high on gailey and there are plenty of reasons to be that way.
once again welcome and stop buy anytime.thats i you hate the jets as well :}

Thanks! I appreciate it. I still vacation every summer with my family in Buffalo. I definitely see your point about Fitz. I don't think he has the arm strength to ever become elite, but he can win games by taking chances (will lose some as well). I still don't understand the Gailey thing. I think he was enormously successful in Dallas as HC, taking them to the playoffs the two years he coached there. I mentioned in my post their records before and after he coached there, so I think it is safe to say he was the difference between winning and losing. Jerry Jones even admits it was a huge mistake to fire him in hindsight. We'll just have to disagree on this one.

To answer the question of the thread, I would say no, for a simple reason: no teams are really "scary" in today's NFL. The closest to scary are teams with elite QB's, and Buffalo is not one of them. Even those teams (GB, Denver, NE, etc) don't necessarily scare me. Will Buffalo be much improved? On paper, yes, but we saw what happened last year with injuries. Thanks again, and I'll swing by from time to time!

Settle it on the field.

But to offer my opinion on Miami vs Buffalo, Buffalo should be better in 2012, but IMO Miami has a head start on the future.

Short answer: NO

Long answer: NO

Absolutely!

Medical, mortgage, electric, car, insurance, cell phone, cable/internet, etc... ****ing never stops...as soon as I pay one bill I get two more in the mail.

Ok guess it is time for the resident Bills fan to chime in here. I read every post and saw a lot of what I expected. I will not come in here and say we are going to win the Superbowl or even the Division. Heck I will not even say we will be the fine right now. Need to see some football before I claim that. So instead I will tell my rivals fans here what I like and dislike about this current Bills team.

Likes:
1. Team speed. This offense and defense has infused some nice team speed this offseason particularly in the Draft.
2. The Defensive Line. Mario Williams, Marcel Dareus, Kyle Williams, Mark Anderson is pretty formidable. Who do you leave 1 on 1.
3. Offseason on signing their own as well. Been a long time in BLo since that has happened.
4. Chan Gailey knows how to build an offense and finally have some players as well.
5. Team Age. They are all young and will grow together and there is really not a Bad contract on the teams (Marios doesn't even Cap Strap them).
6. Ball Hawking secondary now is finally coupled with what looks like on paper a legit pass rush.

Weaknesses
1. LT (this year) Glenn and Hairston need to step up. I think both will be great in a couple years but needs to happen fast.
2. Still worried about our LBers. Love Bradham and Tank but they are a year to 18 months away from starting
3. NO 2 WR. Lot of speed here someone needs to grab this spot.
4. QB love Fitzy's start but INJ to me make a convienent excuse to cover his flaw that he has shown he drops off at the end of the year. Needs to change that this year or I think they go QB next.

Overall though on paper the Bills are looking greatly improved and should contend. But games are not won on paper.

As a Bills fan they scare the **** out of me..... We finally, it seems, do the right things... Signing Stevie and Fred, bringing in Mario, draft all positions of need, etc.... Building on last years draft.

If we don't win and at least challenge for a playoff spot until the end I don't know what I'll do.... It's pretty scary.

I'm more excited than I have been in years for the season to start.

All the Bills have to do is sweep the jests and then all will be good in the world. :brewskis:

Hello fellow fin fans!! First post and just to answer the original question, hell no Buffalo does not scare me, i really dont see what all the hype is about.
