tell me this chris...did you watch the whole green bay lions game or just highlights...if its the latter you shouldn't be talkin about his upside
as for flynn in college i'm fully aware that he wasn't a great prospect...heck i hated him...but we're not talkin about a college prospect anymore..we're talkin about a guy who when he's gotten his chance in the nfl has produced..yeah 2 starts but 2 good ones and one damn good one...we're talkin about a guy the green bay front office even gushes about...
i'm not snubbing my nose at that when i have no long term answer at qb...and definitely not off your lack of upside angle...
I pay for NFL Game Rewind, so yes, I've watched his game. You say he's "gotten his chance in the NFL and has produced" but he hasn't gotten enough of a chance to prove he's a starter. I know his numbers from the Lions game are kind of crazy, but any NFL quarterback can have a great day--even an inexperienced one and one that's put in a great position to succeed and gets a little luck.
As for Green Bay talking him up...I'd say that should be taken with a grain of salt considering I'm sure they've thought about dealing him in the past and they could always franchise him and do the same thing this offseason. They have a lot of incentive to talk him up.
Again--I'm not saying he won't be a good NFL quarterback. If I could sign him to a small contract and let him compete, then I'm all for it. But I'm a Dolphins fan and want a franchise quarterback. There are better options whether it be this draft or next (we all know Moore is pretty much going to start in 2012 anyway), so IF teams start a bidding war for Flynn, then I hope the Dolphins don't take part.
