Does anyone have any faith Philbin will replace Wheeler or Dallas Thomas?

People who think that just aren't paying attention. Our entire organization is collaborative. Philbin won't take a sh*t without discussing it first. ;-)

As I recall, Lazor would not sign a contract until he was given complete control of our O.

That's media talk. Philbin said day one when they asked him if he would call any plays that he believes the coordinators should be allowed to run their teams without interference. Don't buy into the media garbage that Philbin was micromanaging.

Not saying that, just that I'm positive that I read where Laror would not sign without complete control, which was given.

WEDNESDAY BUZZ COLUMN

Associates of new Dolphins offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, Philadelphia’ former quarterback coach, said he was advised by the Eagles not to take the Dolphins job if Joe Philbin didn’t give him total control of his unit. Philbin has given him that authority, and Dolphins players are excited about the system he’s implementing.

The losses to The Bills and Jets were inexcusable...even worse the Loss to The Bills at home coming off our bye week with Thad practice squad Lewis at the helm was by far worse..Id have canned him then. His deer in the headlights look rubs off on his players. We play scared, we start flat and we finish badly...Philbin is not a good coach.

I don't know, maybe I am wrong, but to me having complete control doesn't mean an organization can't be collaborative in nature. For example, Hickey is the GM, but as HC, Philbin has complete control of the team. However, I assume that Philbin and Hickey talk all the time about the team, so why wouldn't Lazor talk with Phibin about the offense? These guys are supposed to be working together, right?

I lost a lot of confidence in Philbin after those last 2 games last year. That was a disgrace! I'm not at the point yet like I was with Wanny heading into 04, or the Meatball heading into 11 where just looking at the coach made me sick to my stomach and I knew the season was going to be a disaster. This is fixable and I think there is some hope for the playoffs. Philbin might turn out to be OK, maybe. I have high hopes for Lazor. I think adding him and getting rid of Sherman makes this a better coaching staff then it was a year ago. We'll see, they haven't played a down that counts yet.

I'd be surprised if Thomas still starts. Wheeler, I don't know I've got a bad feeling the coaching staff is the last to figure out he sucks or will be stubborn about this. It would be dumb to worry about his salary. That damage is already done you don't make things worse keeping on the field. You just make a bad decision worse continuing to play him with potentially better players available.

I agree. Philbin should not even think about what a player gets paid. Play the guy that can help us win.

I just wanted an excuse to post this .gif

But, the best players play, plain and simple. Any coach that doesn't do that will have a rude awakening in the NFL.

Philbin has to get tougher and more personable at the same time, which is tough to do. But remember if we shuffle coaches, we most likely blow it up and start over again. We've tried that for over a decade and a half. I think we need to try patience as long as we don't have another Bully Gate type of thing. At least, for the first time in years it seems like we are emerging from the 1980's as far as offensive philosophy goes. At least we're trying to play the right game. In the past it was like we were trying to fight a war with water balloons. JMHO.
