Does Konrads Admission of Offense Cord..

I think its entirely possible that Gus was brought in to assist AJ with Linehan's system. I believe Saban's first statement when he said it was AJ's job to lose. Its possible the questioning of AJ as our starter by Saban..was to throw more smoke as to who we might draft. If Saban looked like he wasnt happy with AJ..teams may have been willing to move up to get one of the QB's.

I could cut and paste some of my many responses to this subject and make it easy but then, that's just not my style.
I actually lump the ppl that say AJ will or does suck with the ppl that say he will be a great QB. To me they're the same. The ppl that say he will be great put blame too much on the situation from last year and the ones that think AJ will suck don't put enough blame in last years situation.
It's both, a new QB put in a terrible position in a completely alien system that when given the opertunity didn't impress anyone. I do think that at the end of the season he was more comfortible with the system.
I just beleive judging him either way (good or bad) is not smart at this time. People that jump to conclusions about AJ are hard to take seriously.
Give him the stability of a good coaching staff and a good system with better talent maybe he will be a better QB maybe not. Either way we will find out.

Can somebody provide a link to Konrad's quote?

feeley doubters will not waiver until hes playing GREAT, even then they will still have their doubts and say hes getting lucky or he wont keep it up or something... just wait till the season starts and let feeley perform

There are now 3 things about Feeley that are indisputable.

1. He is one tough dude. I can not imagine the beating he took last year and yet was able to maintain his composure, not blame anyone, and actually be effective in several games.

2. Before Jim Bates, Feeley sucked. After Jim Bates, Feeley greatly improved by winning games, most importantly defeating the World Champs. This proves that with better coaching and more support Feeley will get better.

3. The coaches are not worried about Feeley. Saban would have drafted a QB had he been worried. Like all of us, I'm sure they don't have tremendous confidence in AJ, but they're obviously not worried. Frerote is both insurance and tutor for AJ.

Konrad is only confirming what we all knew. The offense, under Wanny, was absolutely horrible. Ricky Williams single-handedly, gave the O what little spark it had. Things will be so much different under Saban. AJ will struggle this year, but I still think he will be decent.

Does the admission by Robert Konrad that the offensive team never even had one meeting together....
That's because Foerster had to attend several PAA meetings ( Porn Addicts Anonymous)

I'm right there with ya. I've always believed every person deservers a fair chance. He obviously did not get that. For me, last year was a wash. This year, he has a clean slate.

One thing's for sure, the kid is a fighter. I always stand behind anyone who lays it on the line game in and game out. Regardless of the outcome, if a player plays to the best, if not beyond, his ability.... he'll always have my support.

This next statement is not to kindle a flame, just a statement of fact. Fiedler brought it every game. He won me over with his courage and grit. And now Feeley is.

PHINZ RULE!

The sad thing is, we had 2 real offensive coordinators on staff last year, but Wanny opted for puppets he could control...first with Collier, then with Foerster, in spite of the facts that neither of them knew what they were doing, and that Wanny himself is clueless about offense. Blind leading the blind.

Clueless leading the clueless. The most inept coaching staff in Dolphin history. And I include George Wilson in that statement.

Everyone in that offense should get a Mulligan.

Simple fact is AJ did not play well last year (as a whole). He did play better once Bates took over and He did seem to improve somewhat as the season went on.

Just like any new coach/system ALL the players will have to prove themselves. I love it that Saban seems like he will bring discipline and accountability back to this team. I am willing to give AJ and our Oline a mulligan for last year. But they do have to show something for this year. Call me a homer, but I have a feeling this offense will be a real nice surprise for the phins this year.

I started this "senseless" AJ thread because of the revelation that Konrad brought to light just the other day. This goes to show the preperation on AJ's as well as any player could not have been adequate, based on his statements. Preperation is more than half the battle folks. I basically wanted to hear from those that dissed AJ before, if after some light was actually shed on the situation from a player who was there, might there be some second thoughts. This thread is entirely relevant based on the Konrad interview.

Well, it's no surprise that things improved slightly once Wannstedt was gone. Jim Bates took over, changed up the blocking schemes, and started doing things we were capable of doing offensively. Our offense at that point looked like a Marc Trestman offense.....lots of dink and dunk passes, very little down the field shots, and very few runs. As a result, our offensive production when up when it came to scoring points, and our turnovers started decreasing. While things were still bad, there were some signs of organization once Jim Bates took over.

Thanks for sharing this information... It is very alarming to me that a head coach (i.e., DW), with a legendary franchise would be willing not prepare his team fully before and during a game... It is mind blowing!!! If those statements by Konrad are true... The Dolphins were doomed anyway... It is amazing how the ego's of a head coach could be the detriment of a franchise. :yell:

I will say that last year as bad as it was, at least got rid of the crap that was called the coaching staff. If I lived in Miami and had season tickets, I would be extremely pissed off. Thankfully a new era is approaching.

.........started by MB posters.

I have never seen a credible source make any mention of his lack of intelligence.

And I'm still trying to figure out why that would even be brought up 5 posts after a former player admits that the offensive team never had one meeting together and the staff was as fragmented as they come. It seems to me that these revelations either disprove or seriously question the accuracy of that particular rumor for those that care to keep an open mind about it.

Those that don't want to keep an open mind, will just continue to attack AJ, while evidence contrary to their opinion keeps mounting.

You both are trying to justfy your reasons for liking or not liking AJ neither has an open mind.

You're wrong. I'll hang him as quick as anybody if he doesn't improve next year.

My fight has been against those that have hung him already.

this is why we are going to shock the nfl this year. im not saying superbowl and im not even saying afc east. but i am saying 10-6 9-7 is by no means out of the question nor is a wild card. i'm not sure all miami fans even understand how big of a joke the coaching staff was last year, much less the fans and media of other teams.
