does the chargers win over denver help us?

Patriots are not going to win the Super Bowl. I don't give a **** if they have the #1 seed. I'd rather them have it than Denver, because I think we can actually give the Pats a game. I don't think we can compete with Denver.

Any given Sunday.

so yea thinking this over we want the chargers to win because we r ALLOWED to lose 1 game need only bmore to lose 1 game and we r in the playoffs!
idk what happenes if jets tie tho so if someone can pinpoint this down...

so basically we control our own destiny even with a patriots loss as long as bmore loses to detroit and sd wins out?

I agree, pats without gronk, wilfork, mayo are not making it to the Super Bowl

In the sense that if all 3 teams (Ravens, Fins, Chargers) all finish the season with the same record, Miami gets into the playoffs out of the 3. I honestly don't think it will come to that, but if it does, a Chargers win isn't hurting us. However, a Denver loss puts the Pats in a better position for the #1 seed. Ugh. :err:

We would win the tie breaker if the Bal loss is to NE or Cin. If the loss is only to Det, Bal gets in based on best conference record.

doesnt make sense because we have 6-3 record and ravens r 6-4 so if they lose to lions and beat cincy and ne they would be 8-4
yet we win 2 of 3 we would be 8-4

If we are tied with them in conference, the next tie breaker is best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four. I read where Bal would have the better record than us.

Three or More Clubs

(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)

Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
Strength of victory.
Strength of schedule.
Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best net points in conference games.
Best net points in all games.
Best net touchdowns in all games.

I think the Broncos losing helped us alot. This means that the Pats have a chance for the first seed so they will play the Ravens real hard for the #1 seed in their sights. Our best option is winning out and the Ravens lose against the Pats and we get in or we lose Sunday and so do the Ravens but they will lose against the Pats

Funny how the league changes this time of year, Denver looks real beatable now and the Chargers looked good.

Well now miami has to just do their job now. The Chargers could win out now. If that happens, and miami beats Pats this sunday, the fins could be set up to clinch the 6th seed if they win the following week against the Bills and Ravens lose to pats, as even if fins lose to jets last game and go 9-7, the best ravens can do would be 9-7 and Chargers play a chiefs team that will probably be resting their starters as they most likely wouldn't move anywhere out of their 5th seed. This sunday is huge, though I hope pats don't get first seed from Broncos losing.

Let's hope for a win, anyone have an extra ticket...?

Baltimore has to lose a conference game. We absolutely have to have a loss from them in week 16 or 17 for any scenario to play out besides us winning out, in which case losing to Detroit would do the trick.

Broncos defense was bad. If only manning had a better defense. I don't know what happened, doesn't seem like they have that much difference talent from the Broncos who played and made playoffs with tim tebow. Perhaps Champ Bailey being out has hurt them more than you would think. But all I know is when Tim Tebow was starting qb, he couldn't muster up much pts or yards, because he's not that good a passer, yet the Broncos kept teams offenses to only 14 pts and ran the ball well and gave tebow and opportunity to win at the end in a low scoring game. The Broncos have good running game and runningbacks, but it's too bad Manning hasn't had the defensive help like the tebow season or else the Broncos would be really dominant. And the Chargers, eh. They are and have been one of those teams with the talent, who can look so good some games and then average or not so much another game. They still are that team. This win from them doesn't change my mind as they are and have been inconsistent this season.

The whole AFC is totally beatable. Anyone who gets in could go on a run and make it to the Meadowlands.

Denver can obviously be beaten if a team plays well against them.

NE just lost Gronk for the year and was obviously beatable before that.

The Bungles are the Bungles. Andy Dalton is Andy Dalton.

The Colts have looked like straight dog **** over the past few weeks. I think they are the weakest of the 8 teams in the mix.

KC is good but, really has yet to beat anyone that matters much.

The Ravens are obviously beatable.

San Diego has been up and down all year.

We have lost to the Bills AT HOME when they started Thad Lewis at QB.

Yea..... all of these teams have flaws and any of the 8 could get hot and make a run. Lets hope its us. Im not scared to play any of these other teams. If we play our A game, we can beat any of them.

How much are we kicking ourselves for blowing that game to the Bills at home and losing to the 0-8 Bucs on the road..... Just those two wins would have us sitting at 9-4, a shot to move into 1st in the division with a win this weekend and be sitting in the 2 seed while still only a game out of homefield advantage throughout? Unreal.

...and if Denver loses, the Pats go back to the Super Bowl. I want to vomit. The Chargers go 9-7 now folks if they win. Forget going 8-8 and getting in.

I still think it was worth SD losing. I disagree with people here.

BTW, NE is going to be JACKED for Sunday to keep home field.

Denver plays Houston and the Raiders....if they lose either of these games that's their stupid fault. Pats aren't going to the Superbowl.
