Haven't they been flexing games the past few years to avoid this scenario? If all 3 teams go into week 17 at 8-7 I think they'll keep the Baltimore game early and flex us to a 4:15 start, that way Miami and San Diego can both still be in the mix no matter what happens in the Baltimore game. Anyway, I think they'll still play hard with Rivers at QB and a rookie head coach whether they're still in it or not.
now the Chargers beat the Broncos and the New england game is going to be harder.I think everyone needs to just calm down if Miami means business they'll win the game regardless of what it means for New England.

IF we end up in a 3 way tie with Balt and SD, and IF we end up tied with Balt on Conference record, SD does not have 4 common games. So, we would move to strength of victory. After the Denver win, SD is at .538. Miami is at .457. Balt is at .401.
Strength of victory is the average winning percentage of all the teams you have beaten, and a Pats win would give us a nice boost. Many outcomes are still possible, and we won't know much of anything until the next two games are played.

I understand what people are saying, but I think the win hurts the Fins because of the 8-8 scenario with three teams tied. No way SD does not go 9-7. Plus, I think NE will be ready to go this Sunday in a big way. I hate the Pats.

Exactly. We need to get to 10-6 or hope for a 3 way tie at 9-7. Getting in at 8-8 is a pipedream.

if we lost this week and even if the ravens lost, it would still be bad for us because we will not have taken advantage of anything and would still be trailing them, this assuming the chargers had lost last night.
now, if we lose this week, as long as the ravens also lose, if we beat the bills and jets and san diego beats the raiders and chiefs we r in.
obviously we still need to win this week, because if baltimore were to win, we r ****ed still.
gives us more options by the chargers winning.

I believe it goes to conference record and we have the best out of the 3. We are 6-3 and Balt is 6-4. But if we lose another game and Balt loses to Detroit than we have the same conference loses. Sd is 4-6 so they are out.

Next tie breaker is win percentage against common opponents. I have no idea where we stand with that against them.
