According to ESPN, it is slot receiver. Did our secondary get good all of the sudden? Our linebackers? Depth at other positions? Call me crazy, slot WR is low on the list at this point, probably right down there with RB. We have Malik, and Tahj Washington from last year. Jonnu and Achane are used in many cases like slot receivers. They added a fair bit of UDFAs at the WR spot as well, am not sure how many of them even profile as slot guys, because the apparently even Dolphins don't perceive slot as a big issue of need.

Miami Dolphins

Position of need: Slot receiver

Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle make an excellent top two, but who is the third option? Free agent arrival Nick Westbrook-Ikhine is an outside receiver. Veterans Erik Ezukanma and Dee Eskridge never really developed.

Right now, the top slot options are two low-round draft picks from 2024. Malik Washington had 26 catches for 223 yards with no touchdowns, while Tahj Washington missed last season with an undisclosed injury.

OK, you're "crazy".
See, wishes really do come true. - LOL

Agreed. I don't see Slot Receiver as being in our top 3 biggest needs: OL, DL, DB

it is certainly possible i am crazy, but at least i watch the games to form my view on the team, and the specific issues in each game, before i comment on them. to do otherwise is what seems crazy to me, but what do i know? anyway i now understand why your responses tend to be like the one you just made, which have nothing to do with the football, because you don't watch!

Ray, I, unlike others do get your "dry" humor! I don't think you are malicious at all! 😂

With so little left to talk about in the preseason, many posters seem "obligated" to be careless in their use of the English language and ignore some of their "hopefully" unintended meanings in their posts.

I try to take "fool" advantage of those "opportunities" to "brighten" my preseason. - LOL

Not the biggest need, but I would be ok with Washington and Westbrook-Ikhine as the 4th and 5th wrs instead of 3rd and 4th. If Miami had the $$$, Hill, Waddle, Gabe Davis, Washington and Westbrook-Ikhine would be a good corp of weapons. Add a vet depth guard and tackle and this offense could be ready to cause problems in the AFC.

It's amazing sometimes how little some media people know about the Dolphins. Wide receiver is one of the strengths.

Corner is the biggest need.
it really is interesting. i guess clickbait, and the authors, even some of the well known ones from ESPN are just lazy. i guess editor tells them to write a story, and they don't even take the time to do basic research. they would be better off letting the local reporter that espn has for each team fill in the blanks, as opposed to a lazy national pundit that doesn't even take the time to do the work. it is kind of pathetic frankly.

Definitely lazy reporting.
