Dolphins blew it with passing on Herbert

I'm happy with Tua personally over Justin Herbert for the long hall. To be honest all the top 3 QB's in this draft look phenomenal. Burrow got a nasty injury and hopefully he comes back the same but he tore his entire knee up.

I really don't get this weak armed stuff i keep reading about from you guys, I'd say the top 4 of the top 5 QB's all time had supposed noodle arms to you guys Peyton, Brady,Brees,Montana.. Jeezus if you watch some of Montana's highlights his passes had chad pennington hang time.

People play too much Madden or something lol, Arm strength and velocity to me are about the 4th or 5th thing down the list i worry about when looking at QB's... Give me reading the field, Pocket Awareness, Accuracy all day over a strong arm.

Herbert is incredible but he's still struggling to get through more than one read. He's throwing that ball regardless and has the talent to get away with it most of the time. But he will throw INTs.

Tua´s anticipation and ability to get through his reads is elite and that's what's given him success. His arm is explosive too, but I think we've only seen him attempt 2 deep balls to Jakeem Grant. There have been plenty Alabama QBs surrounded by quality players but there are reasons why he succeeded beyond all others.

I forgot a stat... number of times benched

Herbert 0. Tua 1

Yeah yeah, we will see at the end of the season but i'm not falling into this weekly soap opera by fans and the media.. who just two weeks ago were saying Tua looks like the right QB after the arizona win. They are both rookies and will have good games and bad games.. Herbert didn't have that great a game against our team that is for sure but i'm didn't go out bashing him or calling him a bust.

Just let the dust settle and chips fall where they may, after the last week 17 game then i'll chime in with if we were wrong or right.

Make no mistake though, herbert is working on a hell of alot better roster then anything we have here.

Tua’s anticipation isn’t translating to the NFL. There were multiple sacks that Tua could have thrown to the check down. I have a bad feeling about the Jets game.

Herbert is 3-7 in large part to a defense that lost double digit leads in several of those losses. Not Herbert's fault.

Herbert has shown he can play at a high level. But he has extremely talented skill position players around him.

While I've always felt Herbert would be a better pro than he was in college, I need to see Herbert continue his rise. Once he does that, perhaps he'll finally be recognized as a great player, he seems to be developing into at the pro level.

He has one great WR which is Keenan Allen and he's a possession type of WR who doesn't create any separation based on fin fans standards lol.

Rivers was just an above average QB who always thought he was better than he was. I’m not knocking him but he was a stat collector, but he was decent and nothing more. In his mind he thought he was Marino or Elway and thought he could gun sling it in the 4th quarters, and he failed big time more times than not. If had a quarter for every dumb interception he threw with the game on the line. So many boneheaded throws from Rivers. A lot of people were enamored because he liked to sling it so they’re blind to all his failures. He would have been a better QB under Parcells or Marty Schottenheimer because those coaches would have kept him real
And that was my whole point. Herbert is showing way more so far than Rivers ever did with the Chargers.

Really? Explain why Herbert lost to us if he was clearly better?

According to some he should be able to overcome all of it.

Still doesn't explain the interception.
Herbert was clearly better than Tua that day and has been all year. Explain the interception? Come on man? X made an incredible play on the ball. He also takes risk with the ball. Herbert's upside is far better. The questions of his skill set have been answered.

The question you have to answer is have we been winning because of Tua? That is clearly a no. Just like the Chargers are not losing because because of Herbert.

When will you back up your post with facts and not emotions?
There were a couple throws against Denver that made me really see it. But one really said out was about a seven yard hook to Grant. Ball took forever to get there. He had time, stepped into it and just nothing on it. In watching the game my thought was, this seems to be happening a lot, especially throwing to his left. He throws well on designed roll outs but not on the run. His accuracy on the run has been bad.

What about Tua's arm is explosive? Honestly. He's been known as an accurate deep ball thrower but not explosive by any means. Herbert has an explosive arm. Nobody has had the level of receiver talent at A ok Alabama that Tua's had, except Mac Jones and their offense might be better than ever.

False statement.

Allen averages 2.7 yards of separation per catch since 2017. Wide-receivers getting separation isn't all about speed, it's about short-space quickness and route running.

I’ll agree with that. I like Herbert and I like watching him play. However it’s very early, he could be a bust or have a worse career than Rivers, don’t know her. But my gut is that he’s here to stay and on his way to being successful. You just hope he’s getting good coaching this early in his career so down the road if he’s victim to multiple OCs and HCs he’s comfortable with himself in what he needs to do.
