If anything did ever happen to Tannenhill, Freeman could do a spectacular job leading the tank.

Barkley needs to get out of Philadelphia. Not a good fit for him. IMO, he's one of the few guys not helped by that offense. Put him in a more standard attack and I think he could be a serviceable backup for a long time.
Freeman is such a spacy wing and a prayer type that you never know what you'll get from him. Barkley certainly seems like more of an asset in the film room and on the sideline during game day.
Granted, it looks like the Eagles are still trying to get something for Barkley and we weren't going to cooperate. In that light I understand the decision.

At least Freeman had a pro bowl year in this league....and took a team to the playoffs.
Easy choice for me, I always thought Barkley was overrated.
Not exactly sure what happened to Freeman in Tampa after that good year....but there was definitely issues and constant change.
Primarily I think Greg Schiano destroyed Freeman....and the rest of that team.
