Dolphins claim Taco Charlton

bringing a first rounder for free will always be a good move. lets see what he can do.
 
This is what the Patriots do all the time. Bring in a former highly regarded prospect for a look-see. Give him a once over, if they think they can develop him, they stash him and give him a chance. If not, they release him before he has time to put his jacket on the chair. Us on the other hand … we've got looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooots of room for development players, so I'm pretty sure he'll stick. If not, we'll likely stash him on IR or something.
 
Nothing to lose, although he's mainly a base 4-3 DE/pass rush specialist.

He looked like a solid, safe pick coming out of Michigan, high floor but questionable ceiling. Long, fluid athlete with good size. He had a terrible get-off from the tape i watched which negated his physical advantage.....and while he did show athleticism and turn the corner, he never consistently won or impacted a game. By the sounds of it, his issues in Dallas were work ethic and attitude. Kick the tires and see if being cut woke him up.....if not, cut him loose. With out roster, you look at EVERY young guy that had a high grade or has physical traits to work with.

that's a really good synopsis of things. I've heard other comments of his "get off" but he seems to flash it at other times. I wonder if it's just a technique issue.
