Dolphins Combine Meetings

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I would have no issue drafting Membou to replace Jackson. Obviously, you wouldn’t make the move this year as it would create another hole. However, Jackson has never been more than an average to slightly above average OT who fits our scheme. Every time he starts to build on his performances, he seems to get hurt. There are only 2 years left on his current contract and if he gets hurt again I can’t see us offering him another extension.
Not a bad idea. I think Jackson is fine at RT, but he has had injuries. I would look to add talent to backup Tua as well, for the same reason.

I still vividly remember the Cowboys “reaching” for Travis Fredrick because no one had him on their 1st round radar. They were mocked by most media sites. He went on to start 16 games in 6 seasons before Guillain-Barré Syndrome cut his career short. He had two 2nd team all pro and one 1st all pro seasons before his medical diagnosis.

If you think a player is going to be elite at their position, pull the trigger. I don't care what position they play (outside of kicker/punter lol). If you have the chance to get someone special, F positional value. I don’t want us to draft Starks or Warren, but I can at least respect their game; if they are who we take I can respect it.

100% agreed.

There were 4 IOL Last season that played over 1000 snaps yet did not give up a sack. The CHiefs whole IOL (Thuney, Smith and Creed) and Tyler Linderbaum-.

You think I am going to care if we draft a Guard at 13, if he puts up a similar stat? Lol

Of course, these guys aren't 1st rounders etc. but your point is correct. Whoever it is, Membou, Booker etc. If you believe they are going to be elite, and they are graded 1st round talent...... You absolutely take them without hesitation

Not one player ever drafted with a RAS score below 5, has ever made the Pro Bowl. They've all had pedestrian NFL careers.

I'm shocked Bolton is on this list, that dude looks very athletic on the field.

I wouldn't mind having Booker at all but think that 13 is way too high for him. If we trade into the last 10 or so picks of the first round then have at it. He is a great player but isn't a great fit for our offense and isn't superbly athletic. That's just not enough for the 13th pick.

Awful 10 yard split, shuttle and 3 cone and Ras killed him

It’s a cool grading system but not the end all be all. Can’t imagine Zach Thomas’ Ras score who was 5’11 so getting killed like Bolton, his vertical was 4 inches lower than Bolton at 28 inches, his 40 was a 4.85 lmao only 20 reps on bench 4 less than Bolton, arm and hand length both smaller, broad jump was almost a foot less than Bolton yet he’s one of the greatest middle linebacker of all time. Ras would of been like a 0.5 lol

Here's the thing.... the FA oline group is not deep, proabably half of them will be resigned by their current teams before FA opens. There is a chance were not getting a good gaurd out of FA.

You might not like the oline in the draft but when FA opens your gonna like that group alot less and there are alot of teams needing gaurds and almost all of them have more money than we do.

that just means we blow the pick if we reach for OL at 13. I love my OLs but....do you want another Billy Milner in the 1st round?

Banks, Membau and Cambpell arnt reaches at #13.

Most mocks have 2 of the 3 gone by 13.
Maybe....but lets look at them. Campbell stands straight up an Iowa TE used to, lets bull rushers get into his chest. Membou, I like the most, he he looks more like guard to me. At guard at 13....ooof. Banks, I think a lot of teams will try him at OT....but he is guard as well.

Why not look at guys Savaiinaea or Zabel in the 2nd. Now if you a dark horse, look at the tape on OT Charles Grant. His agility and movement skills are impressive, he hits everything he pulls for...I love him at OG.

I'm fine with Zabel but it sounds like he's gonna be gone before we pick in the 2nd. So we're banking on Sav to be there.

It's not a bad plan but I can't get past how bad Grier is at getting good olinemen. If you've got a probowl gaurd sitting there at 13 like Membau, just take his ass and be sure you've finally got a good player on the line.

Jackson stinks, he just does and Paul is a total unknown, Membau would be the best linemen on the team the second hes drafted, so would Campbell.

Higgins is an interesting prospect, who I think is a little under the radar.

I’ve mentioned him a few times, I like him a lot. We need that kind of frame.

But like a lot of guys, I’m not taking him at 48 and he probably won’t be there at 98.

If we do take an OL at 13 then I would prefer Membou. He was the best OL at the combine. He would essentially replace Liam at RG and we could possibly move on from Jackson in a year or two then Membou can kick out to RT.

We could sign a FA LG since it would be better to have a veteran OL play next to Paul. Mekari played LG for the Ravens last year.
