Dolphins contact DeCosta

Take a dump truck and drop off a ton of money in his yard. Offer him 10mil a year if that's what it takes!!

What will cause questions about Farmer is he is currently on a worse organization than us. I like him based on what I read about him. Plus he may be eager for the job.
He joined Cleveland this year, he was with KC for 7 years prior to that I think and Atlanta before that. I like that he's been in different organizations and seen different front office structures.

Ugh. I wish we could at least interview him just to shut up these negative reporters.

Ravens asst GM Eric DeCosta has no interest in the Miami job. He's the GM-in-waiting at one of the best franchises in football

Shocker. He probably spit his milk through his nose when he heard Ross wanted him.

Yes me too. But by association with the Browns people are going to think, "If he's with a team who is worse than us how can he make us better?" Living in the present is the way it is. I like his connections, his youth, his intellect, and the fact he's a former player.

DeCosta may be the GM in waiting for a nice franchise, but not everyone likes to wait. How long will Ozzie stay? No one knows. He's not young but not too old for GM. He could be there 10 years. Will anyone wait that long?

DeCosta looks intriguing. Keep in mind, however, Phil Savage similarly was supposed to be Ozzie's right hand man, but he bombed in Cleveland when he set his own course.

If DeCosta doesn't have the desire or ability to develop his own program, and would rather sit in a cocoon in Baltimore with his umbilical cord fully attached to Ozzie, then he doesn't have the character we want anyway in the position. Waiting for Ozzie to retire and not wanting to take a tremendous opportunity to run your own program is very weak. I'm sure Ross would pay him great if he wanted to do it.

I don't know if you guys have hired people, but this is not the type of attitude that makes a good candidate.

And by the way, as the Ravens age, if they go on a run where they don't win, then all bets are off. Ownership could be pressured to start with a new GM. They'd just pay DeCosta off. I'd say it's quite possible that Miami will have a better 5 year run than Baltimore will going forward.
