Kiko Alonso LB, Miami Dolphins
ESPN's Cameron Wolfe reports Dolphins LB Kiko Alonso has already cleaned out his locker in anticipation of a roster move this weekend.
Whether he's released or Miami is able to find an 11th-hour trade partner, it's safe to assume Alonso won't be a Dolphin come 4 PM ET. Cutting Alonso wouldn't provide any immediate cap relief, though it would put $4 million back in the Dolphins' pocket. The veteran missed a large portion of training camp while battling an undisclosed injury and wasn't seen as a strong fit in Brian Flores' new defensive scheme. The former Oregon Duck fared poorly last year, earning PFF's worst grade among qualified 4-3 outside linebackers.

Saying he had not trade value when we got a 4th? His contract sucked but that still doesn't mean he had no value. We ate $ to drive the pick up the board. No value means no pick, come on.
... and I was making the exact same point about the kiko has no trade value, we could make it work if we wanted to most likely

If we eat $5 million of Kiko’s near $7 million he will also have trade value
Hell Reshad Jones has no trade value. If Miami eats all but $2 million dollars he magically has trade value.
You can’t ignore the contract when talking trades.
I saw that about Jones, but also that it is controable situation and shouldn't effect him playing.

Contracts make trades harder. but they don't take players value to zero.

One thing is for sure. If we can't trade Kiko is not for lack of effort. They're waiting all the way to the last second trying to find a taker. At this point I see us keeping only 5 LB's and wouldn't be shock if we only keep 4 for now and then after all the cuts are done we'd bring one LB in that got cut from another team.
