Dolphins' draft Rumor: Miami locked in on RT at 19

Hoops convinced me get OL and this offense will score consistently. Give me a OL in the first, 2nd too

If everyone here believes we will draft a receiver in this draft because of the smokescreens being thrown around the last few weeks then you're most likely going to be disappointed when we don't take one. Martin not on the list means he's definitely on the list

ha...don't blame me...but yes oline should be the #1 priority...that said draft guys with grades that reflect the pick...oline and a mike backer teams two biggest needs imo

Forgive me I haven't been reading every post. I thought you said this draft had no good mikes

i'm not in love with the options especially for 3 down mikes...but it still doesnt mean that in 2014 at least mike is not a big need...if they do draft one even if it's a 2 down guy get one with instincts for the position at least...otherwise it won't make a difference

True still a need. I can't wait for this draft already

Once again, this is a re-hash of the Abramson report. I have to believe smoke screen.

I'll be holding you to what nick1 said you had said :^p

I think you're absolutely right that we have to improve our O-line play. It's likely that they'll prioritize RT with the 19th or the 50th selection. LG should get serious looks throughout the draft, but there shouldn't be any reason to reach on a LG. At 50, any of Moses, James, or Fleming address the need of a Day 1 RT. I think Fleming is really underrated. From there, keep an eye out for value at OG (Gabe Jackson in the 3rd, Turner in the 4th, etc.). I think we can address the O-line without missing out on top-notch defensive talent.

I know you like Bucannon, but if you want him, you're drafting him at 19. I'd like that pick. If you're comfortable that you can find a Day 1 RT at 50 and value at OG 81-UDFA's, I think you're happy drafting a guy like Bucannon or Ryan Shazier at 19. I know you don't like Shazier as much as I do, but I use him as an example. I don't bring him up much anymore, but I would be happy drafting Jimmie Ward at 19. I think he's a natural in single-high, and he's a great in slot man and zone. He reminds me of Ed Reed (not predicting that he'll duplicate Reed's success). I appreciate your urgency to address the O-line, but I think you can keep 19 open - and maybe even 81.

Not really....I just doubt RT is going to be the best value at 19 and can be filled in round 2.

That said...I'll be happy with any holes we fill in round one.

I don't think anyone believes that they will, just that they should. I fully expect this team to continue to demonstrate that they don't get how this league works now.

Maybe I'm missing something, but since when did the big time receiver drafted in the first round dictate success?

Give Hickey a chance. Moves so far show that he sees things much different (clearer) than Ireland.

Let's see the results and give him a chance.

Manning was right though -- in one of the most epic quotes of this off-season. He said, "In this league, if you're not getting better, you're getting worse."

In other words: STANDING PAT WITH MEDIOCRE TALENT at skill positions is a sure way to not even stay mediocre, lol.

We HAVE to upgrade the WR positions 2 through 5.

We HAVE to upgrade OL. MASSIVELY.

We HAVE to upgrade RB.

We HAVE to upgrade starting TEs.

We HAVE to upgrade LBs.

We HAVE to upgrade DL and S.

Rumors are just that......nobody knows who might be available.

You can find starting caliber OL later in the draft. Good teams do it all of the time. You are, however, far less likely to find playmakers later in the draft.
