Dolphins Exploring Osi Umenyiora

I dont care how anyone wants to spin it. When you can get an edge rusher who set an NFL RECORD for forced fumbles last year, you are getting a playmaker, a game changer and a steal for just a 2nd rounder.

The only issue would be how he would convert from a 4-3 DE to a 3-4 OLB.

But goddamn, you add him to this defense, and you have an elite defense for the considerable future.

We still have plenty of Cap Room, and im ALL OVER this deal in a heartbeat.

what exactly would the plan be for osi if he came here??? a 2nd round pick and a 5 year $60 mil contract for a 4-3 end we want to make i assume a 3-4 olb...i just don't get it...but so much these guys do floors me

yeah the d's good really good but the o is not gonna be able to get out of its own way this year at qb...

this d can only carry this team so much...these guys think they can win in todays nfl scoring 13 points they got another thing coming...jeesh

Nice. Rather would've put the money into some people on offense like Bradshaw but w/e..

Usually i love this kinda move. . .and wouldnt be oppossed to it but Im not sure im all for it wither. . . you have guys like Cam wake and Solai who need extensions. IDK

Great player... Not needed. I would rather hear about Edwards or Orton, or hell even Bulger at this point

and there would be the pass rusher we would need , i would say trade starks anyway, maybe starks and a 2nd for osi and 2 late round picks

Osi and Cam would be ridiculous coming off the edge tho. Not gonna lie. I'd do the trade if we could also get Orton with our 3rd. That'd be going all in.

Thanks for the info, but not a fan of giving up a second and a huge contract to a guy getting older and whose never played a down as an OLB.

so now this front office is willing to part with our 3rd round pick next year for orton and our 2nd round pick next year for osi...how long before they offer up our 1st next year for something and the new regime has no picks in the 2012 draft on the first 2 days???

the compensation for osi is fine he's a heck of a player but these guys are giving away future assets to still be a team that can't get over the hump due to qb play...orton henne matt moore it doesn't matter...NOT GOOD ENOUGH

I dont see any chance or need or value in him being here. At this point in his timeline I actually see him missing more and more playing time to injury

Since 1971

Yeah.. starting to get a little pissed off heh. A few days ago I was happy with Ireland thus far.. but since then things have been getting worse and worse. Especially after hearing the #'s on Bradshaw's contract. Sure, the #'s were probably way down from when we talked to him, but still.

Phenomenal player. He is also 30. Can he play OLB in a 3-4? He is 6'3 260 so his size says he could. I just think we need our picks next year so the new coach can trade up for a qb.

I am not sure about this move. If we do this move would our D be strong enough to carry us into the playoffs and deeper because that is what I would expect for this kind of money and high value pick.
