Dolphins Exploring Osi Umenyiora

Osi is a great pass rusher but that's pretty much it. He's always been a liability against the run and seeing as how you guys had 40+ sacks and a young OLB already I don't see how it makes sense to use a high draft pick and give all that money to a one dimensional player who's going to be over 30.

Only Dolphins fans would complain about trading for an all-pro defensive player.

**** Kyle Orton. Give me Osi. At least he's proven.

I think this would be a terrible long term move. Too much money to upgrade a position that is in decent shape. We would be paying him franchise QB money plus losing a 2nd round draft pick. No thanks.

Are the Dolphins FO the only ones that believe that a QB doesn't matter??? They won't upgrade the most glaring need, but they insist on building around a back up QB???

There is no logic in this ...

I'll just throw this out there for the last time.

WHY WOULD WE SPEND MONEY THAT SHOULD BE GOING TO WAKE AND SOLIAI NEW CONTRACT!!!!

Question is, where does he play in a 3-4 defense? The guy has made his living as a 4-3 DE.

Thats what I'm wondering as well...

I'd rather keep Carey (restructured or not) than sign another defender, he'd be a luxury option. And in that case, he better learn to play linebacker real quick

He gets to the quarterback and forces turnovers. He would help the offense by setting them up in scoring position throughout the season.
Translation: draft Dan Carpenter in fantasy

ewww...he's 30 already??? unless the guaranteed money is quite team friendly absolutely no doubt PASS

i'd pass either way cause i don't want these goons giving away more assets that shouldn't even belong to them in the future...but a 30 year old 4-3 end you want to convert to a 3-4 olb

PASS

I swear this fan base is not gonna like to hear we traded a second round pick for a player that will not be under center this season

I would not like this move. He is a good player sure, but our D has a lot of talent already, he just isnt a need. A second round pick and 12 mil per season could get us a nice upgrade at QB which is what the real need is.

Could this be the move that allows the Dolphins to part ways with a starting DE in a possible Orton trade that could follow if Miami is able to get Osi? Just throwing this out there .. HMMMMMMMMMM!!!

eh...hopefully he played qb in college or highschool. And for the people who want to trade Starks, why? Dude is solid

What gets me is how anyone who posts what appears to be an outrageous transaction is instantly given credibility because the prevailing opinion is that this FO is so bad they would make that move. There is no evidence that Miami is looking to make a trade for Osi. They are not listed anywhere on the net by reputable sources as being in the mix. Just because Miami is looking to free up money, doesn't mean Osi is the target. Orton is more likely. The lead post is BS.

Why would we spend money that should be going to wake and soliai new contract??!!!!!

Duhhhh.....................

Why would we trade for a position in which the Dolphins are considered their depth? This doesn't make sense but maybe that's why it will happen. We need to be focusing on Offense as we need another RB and a veteran QB we can bring in for one to two years pending on Henne and a possible development project in the draft next year. While I complain, I might as well throw in the idea we need another TE too!!!
