Dolphins fans ranked 31st in "Fan Equity"

What you deem stupid doesn't matter. Those fan bases die hard for their teams. Which make my original post even more true.

The fan base, especially locals, are fickle at best. Be it bball, football or baseball.

I wouldn't say Miami has the best fans in the world, but the notion that the fans are fickle for not supporting the team well right now is pretty silly. The team has been flat out bad for over a decade. There's nothing fickle about refusing to support that.

I still see it as excuses. I can goto a KC game during a 4-12 season and still see the stands some what full. Where as MIA fans show up at half time during a possible play off push.

I have heard here millions of times that locals have to many choices for their entertainment dollars. Along with transplants from outside FL. Make for a timid fan base. Its sad, but real.

So only one poster upset that we aren't blind homers willing to waste money on garbage? Progress on finheaven!

I was recently at Lids, and chose a STL Cards hat over a new Phin cap. The new logo is a hit or miss proposition.

And you're bitching about fans being fair weather!?!? Wow man this might have topped the meter on the hypocrisy scale.

What are you talking about? The decision to pick the hat I did was based not on fandom but looks. If their was a older Phin logo hat I liked, I would have grabbed it. But sadly, your reading comprehension of that post is sorely lacking. Wow man this might have topped the meter on the inability to understand basic English and reading skills.

There is fickle and fairweather and then there is fed-up.

After JJ, after Wanny, after Saban, after Camoron, after Sparano, after two years of Uncle Joe, you don't think people are tired of watching trash football? For ****'s sake, this team hasn't put 40 points on the board since 2003. We're averaging one 30+ point game per year in that span of time. Even extremely ****ty and traditionally ball control offense teams like the Browns have managed better than that over the past decade.

The problem with one-note mongos like DeathStar spouting "mediocrity" in every other thread is that they're not even right. The Dolphins haven't been mediocre, they've been bad. Our team sucks. I don't blame a single person who has given up their season tickets or refuses to buy merchandise.

And I like to think that what separates us from Redskins and Cowboys fans is not that we're bad fans or lacking in passion, but that we aren't as stupid as those people.

Hold up.

Cowboys fans enjoyed THREE super bowl victories in the 1990's. One of the exciting and famous teams in football history with Aikman, Irvin, etc.... It's only been 18 or 19 years since their last Super bowl championship.

DOLPHINS? We haven't SNIFFED a super bowl appearance in 30 years. We haven't tasted a Super Bowl championship victory in 41 years. Don't even begin to compare the franchises.

Didn't the Redskins win in the 90's?

Dolphins have been losers for FORTY ONE YEARS. You have 40 year olds who have children of legal drinking age, and NEITHER were alive at the time the dolphins last won a championship.

How can Dolphin fans be fickle of a franchise that hasn't given them anything to celebrate in FORTY ONE YEARS?? Dolphins have been so PATHETIC, that we have only reached the playoffs once in like 12-13 years? and it was a one and done first round dropout.

You brought up the Cowboys, who had THREE rings in the 1990's alone. That's 19 years after their last championship. By comparison, 19 years after the Dolphins trophy in 1973 was 1992. Dolphin fans were still die hard in 1992.

It's been a LONG DAMN TIME for the fans. TOO DAMN LONG.

And don't bring up places like Buffalo. They are all stuck indoors due to 10 feet of snow and there's nothing to do there.

The other Miami teams have succeeded in their sports, and used South Florida as a Free Agency advantage. The Marlins have only existed since 1991 or 92 and they have TWO world series already. The Heat have been around since 1988 and they have THREE championships already. DOLPHINS ZERO.

And why are you even focusing on the fans? Does fan attendance make the dolphins play better? The franchise SUCKS and if you want more fans, try winning something for the first time in 41 years. If it were up to me, as a franchise, I would never speak of 1972 again until we win another super bowl. This franchise ain't **** anymore. We are a laughing stock, and a loser crappy organization.

You proved my point by bringing up a place like BUF.

As for the rest of your rant....its null. Why are you here commenting on a **** franchise? Blowing hot air? Being a king pin on the webz?

Does Buffalo also have an NBA and MLB team? and again, you focus on outliers like Buffalo, but ignore examples like Dallas.

The Dolphins franchise has been pathetic.

And I'm here because, unfortunately I'm a Dolphin fan, why else would I be here, genius.

Good. You field a garbage team for 10+ years running, you try to sell a ****ing left tackle as the face of your franchise for several of those? Yeah, you deserve to be 31st in 'fan equity.'

Picking Jake "Glass" Long was a killer. But if you like pain and suffering, a Dolphin fan knows no end. Picking Matt Ryan there was obviously the way to go. Passing on Drew Brees was another ridiculous set back. Trading Wes Welker to the Patriots? Are you kidding me, people on here loved that move. Who did it get us Samson Satele or Pat White, does it matter. Moves like that is why we have sucked for 10 years. It's funny how Brees and Welker are still Top Tier players, and Jake Long still sucks, and is not even on the team anymore...

Nah son. I HATED Wes Welker to the Pats. Anyone who had eyes that season could see that Welker was our best WR. That year, Chris Chambers was hot garbage. I remember vividly because I had him on my fantasy team and he played like a scrub all year. Meanwhile, Welker was out there catching balls consistently. I was absolutely shocked we traded Welker and I hated the move. I will give you Jake Long. We all supported that pick because we thought we needed to build from the bottom up. Dolphin fans figured, we will have a great offensive line in a couple years. Fast forward to the future, and our O-Line was STILL bad during the reign of a supposed "Offensive line guru" Tony Sparano. All these years later, it is still a bad line. Jake Long isn't to blame though, he wasn't a bust. But yeah, we could have had Matt Ryan. And could have had Drew Brees....... dude why do these aholes in charge of our franchise always make the wrong decisions. Feels like sabotage nowadays.
