Dolphins Final Cuts

Mathews was playing on the first team returns units...I doubt that's it... More than likely I think it's once you get in philbins doghouse you don't ever get out...every player he's had issue with or who has voiced displeasure is gone...Mathews may be on the block...

I'd be careful trading this for equal value...you are giving many teams a #2 wr that they desperately need...squeeze em dry...and this wr core isn't a beacon of health...you don't want this team p,aying hazel against 1s for instance...that would be ugly

Add OL David Arkin and WR Matt Hazel to list of Dolphins cuts.Dolphins want Hazel on practice squad, but chance he could get claimed.

Seriously, Hickey is looking like a genius with all the talent demonstrated this preseason by his UDFA and draft picks. Unfortunately, the season hinges on Ireland's QB and CB's from the 2013 draft developing into reliable players. Is that too much to hope for?

Let's temper expectations. We've seen guys come out of nowhere with a good camp one year only to completely lay eggs after. But I think a big issue is with Ireland it was his way or no way with players. Or at least as we saw he and Philbin did not work well together. Ireland for whatever reason couldn't comprehend that players he liked didn't necessarily fit with what our coaches wanted to do. This offseason anyway Hickey has shown that he at least is willing to get players that fit what Philbin wants.

“@mattbarrows: Former Stanford LB Shayne Skov has been waived by the #49ers, according to a league source.”

Wvs all pro

Good call...hazel was not 53 material...

Hazel has potential but needs seasoning. Once Williams had a good camp you kind of figured PS. He also missed some time with a concussion

I think the tipped ball leading to the Rams' interception sealed Thigpen's fate. Good for Philbin. Keep talented players like Hazel who showed better overall football acumen and developmental potential.

I kept Thiggy in my 53 based on his pure speed, but I literally moved him yesterday before my post. Landry is a guy that needs experience and touches and now he will be the returner and evolve as a player. Thigpen does not fit in with idea much and kind of makes sense to move him on.

I just like Thigpen's speed to have on the roster, but in the end, I get this cut.

Probably right.

Trading Matthews is just dumb. If indeed Philbin has a hand in that, he's as incompetent as they come.

They seemed to not keep a Hazel.

Dolphins ideally would like to stash Hazel on practice squad, but a WR-needy team might take a hard look at him. Was drafted for a reason.

Still no confirmation on Kovacs but I would assume it is true.

I heard on the radio in the car the other day that that first part isn't true. I think it was Big O or one of his guests, said that Philbin and Matthews actually had a great relationship now. I don't know.

If Hazel is indeed cut, along with Thomas and Thigpen, there are going to be some surprise people kept.

Did not see it posted but WR Kevin Cone has been cut per Barry Jackson.

They cut tyms last year and he was a better prospect than hazel...who's extremely raw...if someone claims it I'm not gonna sweat it

So TE Kyle Miller, CB Kevin Fogg, WR/RB/KR Marcus Thigpen, WR Kevin Cone, OL David Arkin and WR Matt Hazel so far? Anyone I'm missing?
