Dolphins Final Cuts

I've been told that Rishard Matthews is "definitely" not being cut today. Team still pursuing trade options, however.

Why do they want to get rid of Matthews so bad? Makes no sense.

I'd look into Mikeal Leshoure who was cut today by the Lions. He isn't an everydown back, but could be nice in the redzone and around the goaline.

I don't think anyone expected him to be cut, but what is with the quotes around definitely? Odd...

They realize that they aren't going to put 5 wide receivers on the field this season and that a good player is essentially going to be wasted on the bench. Even if we want to spread it out of an empty set, you're going 4 wide with Clay...

Still wish they'd try to move Hartline instead, though. Cleveland? He's from Ohio, win-win situation. Though I realize the Browns probably don't want to trade for one of our receivers after the Bess situation...

Did you see him get run down in the open field in the Dallas game...he sure doesn't run that fast in pads

Ryan Williams is interesting...he just comes with a massive medical red flag

Ryan Williams is about as durable as a fart.

Damien Williams is dropping hi head an awful lot in the pass pro reps I'm seeing...that's a nasty habit...Moreno needs to take him aside and give him a tutorial on technique etc.,,I can see a lot of blocking air in his future against blitzers if he doesn't clean that up

Depends on what you can get for Matthews? But seeing that he's my number 5 receiver, if a good offer comes along I might bite.

They do not want to get rid of him, but they do want to improve the team. WR is very, very deep for the team at the moment. If they can improve a weak position group, then it might be worth loosing the depth.

Seriously, Hickey is looking like a genius with all the talent demonstrated this preseason by his UDFA and draft picks. Unfortunately, the season hinges on Ireland's QB and CB's from the 2013 draft developing into reliable players. Is that too much to hope for?

Ireland in retrospective fosters an appreciation for Hickey and what he's done so far considering the hole from which he's had to dig out.

Probably because while a good WR he doesn't offer a lot on ST which the bottom few WRs need to provide

Jordan Kovacs tells me in a text that he has been released by the Miami Dolphins. They've asked him to wait around for the practice squad.

“@mattbarrows: Former Stanford LB Shayne Skov has been waived by the #49ers, according to a league source.”
