I guess they figure Garner can fill a lot of holes and releasing Brenner opens a roster spot for another skill position?
Personally, I would be surprised if performances in the fourth preseason game makes a lick of difference to a players value in the vast majority of cases. I think you can hurt your chances, which is what might have happened with Thigpen, but you can't do much to help them at that point.
He is going on the PS for sure. I think hoops had a really good take on the situation -- even if you like the guy, he's not one of the best 5 WR and he doesn't help you right now. You put him on the PS, and if someone else picks him up, well, good for Hazel, but you need guys who can help you win right now.
I would LOVE to know what the fascination is with Seth Labato. He is SOOO BAD, why would we put him on the PS

Last I heard, Pouncey probably won't go on PUP because he doesn't need the six games to get healthy. Many expect him back for the 5th game.
Central Arkansas tight end Chase Dixon, cut recently by the Seattle Seahawks, is scheduled to come to South Florida for a workout. He tweeted about the trip. Dix is 6-5 and 242 pounds and caught four TD passes despite playing in run-heavy offense last year.

This is due diligence. I think this guy was cut from the Seahawks on July 24th. He has visited with other teams.
