Dolphins have 'expectation of mastery' for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa

See, these are the sort of insights and contributions that make me think, “Wow, maybe there really was something to the whole, ‘people going against positive narratives have a lot to offer’ line of thinking.”
I just think that you try so hard.

You do good butter cup.

Now stop distracting me from this GOAT cheese and spinach dip.

I covered this in another thread, but the Dolphins had the 3rd fewest delay of game penalties in the league last year. Up from 5th least the year prior. The “too many delay of game penalties” mantra is just a made up narrative.
That does not surprise me. They practiced quick snaps, last second TOs, stopped motion, and rushed pre-snap reads all season long. They should be #1 at avoiding "delay of game" penalties.

This is my biggest problem with FH ( message boards in general).

Posters presenting their hot takes or opinions as facts.

But then the other side of my brain is like, “idiot, why should they say imo or inmho after posting, its a message board it is effing implied”
Because too many times there are sarcastic, attacking replies that demand proof or a link if it's not made clear.

Not everyone processes information the same way. Not everyone has your "common sense".

Personally, I couldn't care less but for my sanity and peace on the board I try to be respectful. and clear when I post.

With respect to posters with more complete knowledge I leave room for a counter or correction.

I can't answer for anyone else.

I think too much is put on Tua, He should be able to golf and drink as much as he can when he has time off. He shouldn’t have to put in more than what’s expected of him to be great.
It’s preposterous the Dolphins ask him that.
Sure doesn’t act like the highest paid in the building

I don’t think there’s any evidence that Tua audibles any less than average. If you , or anyone else can provide some I’d love to see it.

Lamar Jackson scored a 13
Dan Marino scored a 15

There are studies that show the wonderlic doesn’t really show intelligence. Especially in athletics.

“Bad for Athletics

The Wonderlic was designed for corporate use -- not for athletes. It completely fails to provide value in the measurement of an athlete's cognitive ability. There are 3 primary concerns that have been observed in its use by the National Football League:

1) The Wonderlic is not used by NFL teams in their decision-making process.

2) The Wonderlic provides a "stereotype threat" to players.

3) The Wonderlic results are unrelated to NFL performance.“

Cool.

Now all we have to do is look up each QB wonderlic score and compare it to their success on the field.

Then we would know if there is a pattern.

I don't see a good start with the above QB's as examples.

It seems like many of the "skills" or traits a player has are muscle memory related.
Those acquired skills over the years may not be part of the test.

The actual play on the field may not be taken into consideration.

I don’t think it’s talked about a lot but I don’t find Tua to be a particularly smart dude. He actually comes off like a big dummy. I think that’s a factor in.. well, everything.
Tua is definitely slow on the uptake. No one is going to confuse him with a member of Mensa.

...but you can make it through their answers to questions and they're smart enough to give answers that fit the question / context. That confidence and clarity builds charisma.

OTOH, Tua is more often just kind of weird. Beyond the stammering and lack of conviction, his answers to questions often just give away too much...things which really shouldn't be part of the public projection. We can all agree that he's too confessional.

I get what @Atila is saying. The guy is kind of hard to root for. Charisma is a thing and he's always been less charismatic and more honest...but that's not necessarily a good thing in terms of leadership.

Some people hide their distaste for Tua behind an infinite list of 'football' complaints but in reality he's just not that well-liked among a lot of fans who are really 50/50 on the guy. You can cite jersey sales all you want but I've never met a Dolphins fan in real life that liked anything about Tua beyond the passing efficiency. There's just no personality there and what is seems kind of goofy.
True, and as has been stated multiple times, he is not a natural leader. He's awkward and lacks that alpha persona that superstar QBs have.

Tua said as much during an interview last year where he wanted to get the team into the right play but couldn't because of the play calling and the requisite pre-snap window dressing each play required. Hopefully this year Tua has more freedom to check at the LOS.
I think it's fair to say that McD is hamstrung by Tua, and Tua is hamstrung by McD.

Oh, Chad.

Did…did your little rebellion not do so well? Did your “recruitment” to another site not do as well as you thought it would?

Are you gonna get another account locked in the basement or outright banned from the site?

So sad.

Tua needs to stay healthy, that's about it. The rest of this conjecture is bullshit.
This! This so f’n much.

Tua’s injuries are definitely a concern. However, when he’s not injured he’s a top NFL QB. There’s just no way to objectively or reasonably deny that.

I can understand the “get rid of Tua because he’s injured too much”, but acting like his play isn’t top notch is crazy to me.

I'm actually insulted you even think I'm Chad.

You should know, I've been handing you your rear end for years, does that sound very Chad to you?

Chad is annoying but nothing like this guy, this dude is a bully who can’t take it the way he gives it… he tries to troll but he’s actually just soft. Chad is fine and nothing really like this dude

Yeah exactly, nothing like Chad.

I rest my case.
