Dolphins have 'expectation of mastery' for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa

Hard to believe it’s been 6 years already.

At some point a qb gets labeled.
 
So I was thinking of something. Had tua played on his 5th year would I have franchise tagged him for this year despite my concerns etc. knowing what I know now.

And the answer is yes I would have. Until we have a better option im fine with taking it year to year I just don’t want to be locked into anything and hassled with an albatross qb contract.

That wouldve been the ideal outcome for the team, but on Tuas side he would def harbor resentment for us making him play year to year...now is that a good thing that he channels that anger and proves that he deserves the contract? Or does he goes Reek/Ramsey bitch mode and tries to force his way out?

This FO is so concerned about a great working environment that I think they bit the bullet and took the chance because they were scared of causing waves in the locker room. Not the way a competent GM runs a team for sure.

How could he have resentment, he’s only had one full season in five years.. even his little brain could figure out this isn’t a good business move

Yes it about team too 24 year without winning playoff games. U can blamed qb, coaches, Gm and team for lack off production in last 24 yr. Tua need stay healthy to gave team chance in 2025.

His brain isn’t thinking about if it’s a good business decision for the team, his brain is thinking let me secure that bag for long as I can before my body starts to break down

I understand your point but in reality, it’s kind of hard to be optimistic considering the data that we have when it comes to Tua being healthy.
 
Tua might go down as the best QB in the history of the league to never lead his team to a playoff win. But he’s in good company. Ryan Fitzpatrick, Trent Green, Y.A. Tittle, Sonny Jurgensen, Don Majkowski, Neil Lomax, Andy Dalton. Lots of good names on there. Tua could be at the top.

I have said same thing about Tua. I doubt he win playoff game As dolphins qb.

Folks can continue to believe that Tua does everything possible in the offseason to improve who he is as a Qb mentally and physically, I do not
 
Lots of irrational people in here. They wouldn't know good qb mechanics if it hit them in the face. There was one dude named hoops, yes calling you out who actually stated Hurts is a top 5 passing qb in this league.

Credibility in evaluating qbs completely down the drain.
