Agreed, but it isn't the only thing. We, as Dolphins fans, should know more than anyone that it takes more than just a great QB to win a championshipQb play determines the highest ratio of whether you win or lose

Qb play determines the highest ratio of whether you win or lose
True. I think our friend cbrad came up with a nice stat that shows that a QB is responsible for about 10-12% of a team’s success. Which is more than any other single player.Qb play determines the highest ratio of whether you win or lose
However, that really has nothing to do with the debate. Some knuckleheads want us to believe that if a QB has a PR of 158, and his team loses, he’s a worse QB than a QB who had a 10 PR but his team won.
It’s one of my favorite parts of football. Teams change through the year. I couldn’t stand when college u had to be perfect to have a shot. The old bowl game era was great, but that last decade we spent only letting four teams into the playoff sucked.Agreed, Eli stepped up when it mattered most and deserves to be in the HoF because of it. His career is a testimony to the value of the playoffs in this league, and how little a .500 regular season record matters at the end of the day. This game is about winning Super Bowls.
I don't know of Tua is going win playoff game in Miami. The main reason is k.c Ravens and Bills.Only a fool would think you can have a successful career in the modern NFL as a QB and not win a single playoff game.
But obviously Tua hasn't won one yet so people get in their feelings and talk about how wins are a team stat, etc. etc.
Hilarious.
It certainly does in today's NFL. Passer rating is also a decent correlation to win percentage and Tua for all his faults is very good at putting up good passer rating games due to his accuracy.Qb play determines the highest ratio of whether you win or lose
I'll be surprised if he doesn't. They can't keep being this unlucky with injuries, there will be a season when the roster stays mainly healthy, they win the division and get a home playoff game.I don't know of Tua is going win playoff game in Miami. The main reason is k.c Ravens and Bills.
They might have shot. If they are 5th seed against team like Houston texans.I'll be surprised if he doesn't. They can't keep being this unlucky with injuries, there will be a season when the roster stays mainly healthy, they win the division and get a home playoff game.
The team is also good enough to go on the road and beat the 4th seed if they end up with the 5th seed. As it stands though I'd give them next to no shot one the road against KC, Balt or Buf unless those teams had major injuries.

One of the Dolphins big issues (apart from mass injuries to a position group) is that they don't find a way to win games when their QB doesn't play well. They lose like 90% of the games when the QB posts a rating below league average. Meanwhile better rosters like the Chiefs, Ravens and Bills still find ways to win games when the QB isn't having a good day, I'm sure the last time I checked the Bills still win something like 40% of games when Allen puts up a passer rating below league average.
The Dolphins have a roster construction issue, they need to find ways to win more games when the QB has a poor day.

2024: Bills were 3-2 when Allen had a PR below league average. It certainly does in today's NFL. Passer rating is also a decent correlation to win percentage and Tua for all his faults is very good at putting up good passer rating games due to his accuracy.

Dolphins must be improving, last time I looked at this (was a while ago now) I think they were something like 1-9 in games Tua put up a rating under 92. But hey, he doesn't do anything to carry the team.2024: Bills were 3-2 when Allen had a PR below league average.
2023: Bills were 5-4 in games where his passer rating was below average.
57% winning percentage when Allen had a below average PR over the past 2 seasons.
2024: Dolphins were 1-2
2023: Dolphins were 1-4
Dolphins win 25% of the time.
This also shows how many more games Allen has with below average PR’s than Tua. But because the TEAM wins he gets credit for having a good game.

It’s also because both the GM and head coach can’t evaluate the backup Qb position worth a damnIt certainly does in today's NFL. Passer rating is also a decent correlation to win percentage and Tua for all his faults is very good at putting up good passer rating games due to his accuracy.
