Dolphins hire Tannebaum as consultant

Never once anywhere did I say I supported this hire but carry on.......you usually do.

No you just come out and rail anyone who doesn't like the hire and voices their opinion. It is a passive aggressive way of supporting the hire. Fins up bro!

Roadrunner to banish in 3........2.......

Given his track record with the Jets and all things New York, yes it is hard to believe he was genuinely a fan of the team before buying it.

Given your track record of being disgusted with this team from top to bottom, maybe you aren't a fan either. I mean, you sitting there typing out who is a real fan and not, and that your are only qualified to be the owner if you are a fan since birth.....so yea, I'm just going to pass judgement on you too and say your a a phony fan too. :loser1:

"Mike Tannenbaum is not qualified for the position I didn't know existed 5 minutes ago."

Signed,

Your average Dolphin fan

Did I ever say he wasn't qualified to be an owner? The only qualification for being an NFL owner is having absurds amount of money, and he clearly has that. All I am saying is that Ross has an affinity for Jets, which is clearly the case. Can you think of any other reason why Curtis Martin would be on the damn DOLPHINS committee? I mean, really...

Ross bought the team not out of some kind of football fandom, it was an investment for him - like a hotel or business property. By no means do I believe he was a rah-rah Jets fan or anything like that. He was likely just one of those casual, corporate football fans who reads the scores in the paper and shows up in cushy box seats during playoff games and monday night football games. All I am saying is, his casual football interest wasn't in Miami, it was in New York - his REAL home.

And now his casual interest in the Jets is affecting the Dolphins, because he keeps bringing in all this trash from the Jets into the organization. Now, if you want the Dolphins to resemble the Jets organization of the past 20 years in anyway, I suppose you could salute that, but I won't.

Its amazing how many people dont read the articles on this website.
You all make YT commentators look intelligent.

7 pages for a consultant hire...LOL!

On the surface this is a terrible hire but after reading what he will be doing who really cares?

There is 7 pages on Tannebaum because he 1. he was a Jet. 2. he is close to people within the organization and could weasel into more football decisions. 3. he has no football background until he became a GM. 4. he is dubba on TV and says dumb ass things.

He is the GM in waiting for when Philbin/Hickey are fired and run out of town.

They only gave Hickey a 2 year contract for a reason. EVERY other new GM hire gets a 4 or 5 year deal. After everyone turned down Miami, the Fins in panic mode had to hire someone, so Hickey got lucky. Now with all of the suspensions and such, the future looks poor....get the next GM on the payroll and in place.

That's reality of this hire
God I hope not

We really need a conspiracy theory badge for this guy.

This is a Ross move all the way. The man has an unhealthy obsession with the Jets and loves bringing jersey-tainted trash to the organization. I wish the NFL would have let him buy the Jets when he wanted to, because its obvious he was a bigger Jets fan than a Dolphin fan before buying this team...

Jersey ain't tainted with trash

I'd love to hear your theory on that

Nothing I wrote was in any way a conspiracy theory. I simply stated the facts of Mr. Ross' situation. You can try to wash away those facts all you want, but it doesn't make it any less true.

He is a New Yorker first, remember that. I never claimed Ross is secretly some Jets fan that is trying to sabotage the Dolphins. All I am saying is that his networking with the Jets brass over the years is making it so that he is routinely bringing in former Jets folks into the fold in our organization - and given their ineptitude over the years, that isn't something to emulate.
