Dolphins hire Tannebaum as consultant

Excuse my language, but what the f@#! are we doing hiring this bum. This makes no sense.

Did you read why he was hired or what his role would be or even see the other long thread on this before you posted?

His comprehension skills are about as sharp as yours.

Instead of posting about the thread subject your first post with Dolphin news you don't like is to attack the first fan who may agree with the hire.......understand now?

Sounds like he will be setting up a database system....a system to track metrics on players or processes. It doesn't mean he will be analyzing the data. But its always funny to hear the FH peanut gallery suggest that it means Mangini will be the coach next year, or that Ross is really a Jets fan, or that he is coming in to replace Aponte. It just doesnt get any dumber.

Evidence that Ross was a bigger Jets fan than Dolphins fan before becoming owner:

* Tried to buy the Jets in 1999 (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3847012)
He also made an unsuccessful bid for the New York Jets in 1999.

* Although he has claimed to have grown up as a Dolphins fan, the team didn't even EXIST when he lived in South Florida. Ross was born in Detroit, went to high school in South Florida. He graduated in 1958 (8 years before the Dolphins were founded), went to UF for a few years before transferring to the University of Michigan business school. He moved to New York City in 1968 (2 years after the Dolphins were founded) and spent the rest of his adult life there. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_M._Ross)

* His only ties to South Florida prior to buying the Dolphins was attending high school there in the 50's and having a vacation home and some business properties in the area.

* He has continually brought in former New York Jets trash to the Dolphins in positions of power, including Matt Higgins (http://jetsrant.com/2012/03/01/form...s-working-with-dolphins-owner-on-new-venture/), Dawn Aponte, and now Tannenbaum. He has openly courted Mangini (former Jets HC). He added CURTIS MARTIN as a member of the so-called Miami Dolphins "Ethics Committee"

So you tell me, where in all this did Ross find the time to become a die-hard Dolphins fan from his penthouse in Manhattan while canoodling with all these Jets trash recepticles and making a bid for the team more than a decade before he bought the Dolphins???

He is the GM in waiting for when Philbin/Hickey are fired and run out of town.

They only gave Hickey a 2 year contract for a reason. EVERY other new GM hire gets a 4 or 5 year deal. After everyone turned down Miami, the Fins in panic mode had to hire someone, so Hickey got lucky. Now with all of the suspensions and such, the future looks poor....get the next GM on the payroll and in place.

That's reality of this hire

Tell you what. When you understand what my post was about in the other thread, THEN you can talk about it. That is unless you think of yourself as a troll.

Give us a break the Dolphins could hire Charles Manson as a Sensitivity Counselor to deal with Bullygate and you would agree with the hire!

NFL franchises are rarely on the market. The chance of you being able to buy your childhood team is going to be maybe once in a lifetime at most. Maybe the guys just likes football, and is it so hard to imagine that he could actually like the Dolphins?

Right immature because you don't like the message. Doesn't change the fact that you blindly support everything this franchise does.

Then there is that whole pesky process of getting the approval from the good old boys network!

Never once anywhere did I say I supported this hire but carry on.......you usually do.

Given his track record with the Jets and all things New York, yes it is hard to believe he was genuinely a fan of the team before buying it.

He got to New York in 1968, a year before the Jets super bowl victory. I would bet money Ross was cheering on the "home team" back then, and for many years after. For him to claim he was a lifelong Dolphin fan was a straight up lie and cheap bid to win over the local fans.
