Dolphins hire Tannebaum as consultant

Don't know if I mentioned that in 07, a season after basking in the WC loss with Bradway's peeps, Tannenbaum built the 4-12 Jets which objectively speaking would have been 2-14 if Randy Mueller hadn't built a 1-15 team. And of course in '12 Magical Mike The bountiful bean-counter put all the pieces in place to build his 6-10 version - a team so epically inept that it's signature moment is the first ever Butt 6 immortalized in video, leggo building blocks and as a newly recognized urban dictionary phrase.

you like to play the "would have" game all the time, how about just looking at results? 3 playoff apps, 4 playoff wins, 2 title game apps. you guys would kill for results like that.

in 7 seasons had just 2 losing seasons, team was alive for postseason play in 5 of 7 seasons, made 3 postseasons. since 2001(13 seasons) Miami has had 7 losing seasons, were alive for postseason in 4 seasons, 2 playoff apps, zero playoff wins but they would have made the playoffs had other teams lost and Miami won more games!

what's funny is you have so many excuses yet don't apply them to your team. Your last 2 div titles(2000 and 2008) happened after NYJ choke jobs to end those seasons so I can use the same pathetic excuses but I don't.

you should brush up on your football knowledge. it wasn't a bad deal at all, he was going to be our starter at least 2 more years anyway at that point.

-His 2012 compensation will remain the same as the previous contract ($11.75 million), except now it's fully guaranteed and will be divided as follows: $8 million signing bonus; $3.25 million base; $500,000 workout bonus.

• His 2013 compensation went from a non-guaranteed $6 million to a guaranteed $8.25 million, bringing the total guarantee in the new contract to $20.5 million.

• The money in 2014-2016 is not guaranteed. That includes $11.5 million in '14 ($2 million roster bonus, $9 million base, $500,000 workout), $14 million in '15 ($1 million roster bonus, $12.5 million base, $500,000 workout) and $12.25 million in '16 ($1 million roster bonus, $10.75 million base, $500,000 workout). There's also $10 million in potential escalators.

Aaahhh, the old "I'm rubber you're glue" defense. Works every time, right?

It was basicly structured so that if (when) he crapped the bed it wouldn't hurt the jests too badly. They knew he would fail so they created a way out that wouldn't handcuff them too terribly. I'm sorry, you can spin it as much as you want but having one of the top 7 salaries for NFL QB's is considered huge by anyone's measure. Except yours. But then, your track record of incompetance speaks for itself. Keep dropping the negative rep on me. It doesn't make you any more right.

but Henne never helped you get to the playoffs, mark has more playoff wins in just 4 seasons as a starter than Miami from 1995-current

But Snatchez didn't help the jests get there either. They did it in spite of him and with a halfway decent QB at the helm, they may have won it all.

Perhaps you missed who I said I was jealous of. Teams that get to and win the Super Bowl. Yours not being one of them.

There's plenty of teams that I'm jealous of. Those with rich winning histories and SB wins in the last 3 decades. Why anyone would think the jests are deserving of their jealousy is mind-boggling.

so it was structured to protect the team so it wasn't a bad contract. thanks for finally seeing it.

except he was a huge part of the jets success. they wouldn't have made either title game w/o him.

again, w/ your success this century the only teams you aren't jealous of would be the Bills & Browns. every other franchise has had more success than Miami.

Can't defend buttfumble anymore on TGG so now you do it here...

edit: testing buttfumble...hahaha well done I approve of this auto correct.

when he is brought up I defend him. I know what he did for us and what he is capable of doing for other teams. He's not a young, more athletic Tom Brady but he's a guy teams KNOW they can win big with. There aren't any pf those guys in our division outside of Brady now.(maybe Vick).

Yep...2 div titles. But the Jets have only had a total of 4 in their entire history:3w:

The Jests were so confident in his winning ability that they structured a HUGE contract so that it was team friendly and could be easily unloaded and then released him for a young unproven. Seems legit.

And don't claim to know what I may or may not be jealous of. I've given an example of what I would find to be jealous-worthy. Just because your standards for jealousy are so much thinner than mine doesn't mean you should attempt to apply them to me. As a jests fan you should be jealous of a fart trapped in a wet paper bag.

since 1995 we have the same # of div titles, the difference is we have many more playoff wins w/ 3 title game apps while you guys never got close to a title game.

so if a team is fully confident they should try to get a player to sign a deal that is bad for the team?

I am not jealous, it's not in my nature. if the dolphins ever win I won't like it but I will be genuinely happy for the real fans on the board. I have fun w/ the back and forth stuff but the Jets winning or losing doesn't make me a better or worse person.

Yep, in the last decade they've doubled their entire franchises history of post season success. And this clown thinks this is something to be jealous of.

Fun fact: Historically, there are only 6 worse teams than the jests. That's quite a lot of teams for lil' junc to be jealous of.

Side fun fact: Historically, Miami only has 2 teams to be jealous of.

*fun facts based of all time winning percentages.

Pre-emptive reply from junc: "but we're only talking about recent history as dictated by myself and begining with our first playoff run this decade".

how can there be only 6 teams worse than us when 9 haven't even won a SB?

you can hop back into the Delorean and go back to the 70s and 80s when Miami was a top team all you want. you guys have zero playoff wins since 2001. That's not good.

First, your lack of reading comprehension lives up to the legend. I clearly stated what that was based on.

Second, my prediction of your reply was dead on. Thank you for being your predictable self.

oh win %:lol2: I love when phin fans act like they are the Yankees of the NFL b/c of win %:lol2:

Almost as funny as a guy talking as if his team that hasn't won a Superbowl since black and white televisions were more common than color ones is actually good.
