Dolphins Home Field Advantage

you must read more carefully, I didn't say the effort is comical. I said the notion that soccer players run for 90 minutes is comical. They spend a good portion of the game stopped or walking. That is not saying you don't have to be in phenomenal shape or that there isn't a lot of running involved but soccer fans like to pretend like football players are always stopping and soccer players go nonstop which just isn't true.

Now I'm thinking everyone here should read more carefully, because nobody ever said soccer players run for 90 minutes No human could do that -in a marathon, yes, but not on a soccer field where you have to stop and go all the time. If someone had actually said that, then I might have understood your meaning from the start.

To get back on topic, even though football players only actually play 11 minutes, contact is very tiring. IMO that's why the only players who usually get a breather are RBs and DL. WRs and CBs, on the other hand, have little reason to get exhausted. I'm pretty sure this is why when a team is tired, it shows as inability to stop the run and inability to rush the passer.

Just this about soccer: just because somebody plays a wussy sport doesn't mean they're not in good shape.

They also have to sprint, play defense, sprint for a ball, run across a field, stop, sprint...etc. I wouldn't undermine that...very exhausting especially playing in the middle of the Amazon.

Dude.

Soccer is serious ****.

Some Uraguay player bit a Italian guy in the middle of the game.

Mike Tyson style.

soccer fans pretend like soccer players are constantly running, 90 mins may be an exaggeration but we are constantly told how much they run and the initial post in this thread saying football players only actually play for 11 mins of gametime is that same type of mentality trying to pretend soccer players do so much more.

It's great that soccer fans love soccer but most soccer fans(like hockey fans) feel the need to shove soccer down our throats. I don't love the game, I don't think I ever will. I will always root for our Country so I want to see the US win and the WC is an interesting event. The WC is hard enough for me to watch and it is a great event, I couldn't last 5 mins watching MLS or even the great European leagues. it bores me.

Never said it wasn't but let's not pretend they are constantly running. There are a million times for the players to rest during games.

The heat and humidity has zero effect on the opponent. Why do we go through this same topic every year. Miami DOES NOT have a home field advantage.

of course it does and of course it is an advantage. the problem is Miami hasn't had many 1PM Sept home games in recent years and they haven't been good enough to take advantage.

with the use of the bubble when raining and really hot days, the advantage is pretty slim.
