Dolphins keeping Jim Turner?

Exactly. And this is exactly why I won't be surprised to see the guy keep his job.

This is the Miami Dolphins that we're talking about.

Questionable leadership is rampant.

Escape of the guilty, punishment of the innocent, and reward of those who had no part.

Only in Miami could the coach who oversaw one of the worst performing units in league history and one that brought unprecedented shame to the organization be kept on board...

Yea but someone has to show the new guy where all the good strip clubs are for meetings and where to purchase blow up dolls just for kicks :idk:

They may be waiting for the final verdict from the NFL to make a move . At least I hope so.

 thanks for the laugh Fish!

I am very upset about this but not surprised. I think the HC knew what was going on. And because Turner has the goods on him, Turner does not want to take the fall by himself. The HC being a man of "high integrity" has no choice but to retain Turner to keep him quiet. If Turner is let go at this point, it will be because he and the Dolphins agree on a substantial settlement (which would include hush money). I am sure you will hear them say they have mutually agree to "part ways". Oh and BTW, don't expect the NFL to suspend anybody. Keep in mind it was Stephen Ross who called in the NFL to investigate this, the NFL did not come to him. Goodell may deem it unfair to punish a team who was just asking him for help. Not saying I like it, but it is plausible.

Turner will spill his guts and take down Philbin. Turner has the team by the balls. He will probably be quietly terminated a few months from now once he has another job lined up and after the hush money is paid out.

I'm not buying all of this post, but it is interesting to think about. i.e.) that turner knows exactly what he said to Philbin.

Are you saying Stephen Ross is the George Costanza of the NFL?

You do realize that Stephen Ross is the biggest real estate developer in New York City (many times bigger than Donald Trump) and unlike most of the other NFL owners who inherited their wealth, he made it himself after starting his career as a tax attorney in Detroit? Where you see him as being an idiot because you didn't like his appointments of Philbin and Hickey, he has a track record of phenomenal business success.
I don't understand the relevance of George Costanza. Steinbrenner still owned the Yankees. George just worked for him.

The only possible scenario I can come up with for turner still being here is he was a loyal soldier and covered for other cosches during the investigation.

His replacement is already here, so it makes no sense otherwise to keep him. The team probably wants to be loyal to him but have a coach in place just in case he's suspended.

That's the only thing I can come up with.

Opposite Man! ...take another look at the post to which I was responding. I was making a joke in response to what Hayden said.

But since you brought it up, I'll say what's been said here by many: real estate smarts and football smarts aren't the same thing.

Guess Dallas doesn't count huh...Monte Kiffin still has his job and the Cowboys had one of the worst Ds of all time...but no only Miami does it...

He should be fired for his actions, but I can't fault him for his coaching with the chicken **** he was given to work with...
