They really hyped him up coming out too. Said he was the most likely to be ready to play.Eli Manning was my comp for Rosen. He excels on 11-20 yard throws, but he's very bad at throwing deep, and he's too inconsistent on "gimme" throws (< 10 yards). When you factor in his limitations, you have a flawed QB. That doesn't mean he can't find some success in the right situation, but he'll always be a limiting factor.
If they were to trade Rosen I think it makes more sense to do it when the league year starts. If they wait until the draft more teams will have there QB situation in place and they'll have less leverageSources: Teams asked Cards about Rosen trade
Multiple teams inquired about Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen's trade availability at the NFL scouting combine last week, two league sources who spoke to the Cardinals told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Cardinals, however, did not give those teams any indication that they are willing to move on from Rosen at this time, the sources told Schefter.
This does not mean that the Cardinals won't wind up shopping Rosen eventually, but they haven't to date.

We have to give these guys the benefit of the doubt no matter what happens.
We've been clamoring for a new regime and this forum is going to lose their minds come draft day NOT KNOWING what ANY player might be, WITHOUT KNOWING how they'll fit in a new system, WITHOUT GIVING the staff at least 2 years to get a feel of what direction we are moving.
We gotta get behind the choices and just hope, pray. No point in throwing up your hands without even waiting for the players to get on the field.
We also don't have to put on Dion Jordan we've hit the lotto glasses like many on here lost their minds.
Wait and see and chill and keep the faith. What other choice do we have?
I think Rosen is worth gamble IF he can be had at fair value. Goff looked ****ty his rookie year too. And if Rosen continues to struggle then we draft a QB in 2020.
I'm going off a 5+ y/o memory, but there's a part in Money Ball where Jonah Hill and Brad Pitt's characters are discussing one of the most important aspects of analytics. They're going over players who have some awkward aspect to their swings or throwing motions but are much more successful than they're given credit, which is to say that they're much better than perception and cost. That part of the movie stuck with me more than any other.
The inverse is also true. Some guys look better than they are. They have a prototypical swing or throwing motion, but it doesn't translate to high-end results. Josh Rosen is one of those guys. Eli Manning was one of those guys. If you just watch highlights, he looks better than his brother, as his motion is more natural, and some people said he'd be even better than his brother.
We all have biases, and people who don't put in work to check their biases will tend to overrate players like Rosen. Iirc, the consensus draft analyst rankings for Mayfield, Darnold, and Rosen were 11th, 8th, and 4th overall respectively, which is to say that most draft analysts are very bad at checking their biases. There was plenty of concerning film and data surrounding Rosen, but the prettiness of his game trumped all that for the majority. Credit to the NFL for getting the order right.
They just did. Traded for Keenum. Less takers for Rosen means less we have to give up. Let's get it doneTrading for Rosen might also mean we have a trade partner for Tannehill. Redskins could get desperate.
