Dolphins preparing themselves to pay Eugene Monroe top LT money

This is complete bull****.. The dolphins are willing to break the bank for a Monroe, but let a better LT in Jake Long slip right through their grasps at less than that last year...

For one Long didnt want to stay in Miami ,two its better we let him go because ever since Long got hurt , he hasnt been himself , and hasnt played hard consistant football , i would rather pay a Pro Bowler great money and get someone that hasnt been hurt , than to pay another Pro bowler good money , and he may never see the field and if he dose maybe miss half the season , and from what i saw about Long , he hasnt been the same since the injury .....the draft is very DEEP with G and T and from what ive heard a 3rd this year is like a 2nd , where the draft is so deep with Talent .....but Long took less money to go to the Rams , so it wasnt like we didnt offer him a new deal .........

To be honest I'd rather not over pay for one FA o-lineman. The way I understand it there are several good o-lineman available as free agents. I'd rather bring in two guys that are at least better than out guys and run with that. We shall see though.

10 mil is steeeeeep though. I'd say he's worth 9 but idk about 10. Would love to see him in Miami though.

No disrespect to you mate, but this is the type of attitude that irks me a bit. Prepared to pay 9, but not 10. He may not be the best LT in the game, but he is one of the top 3 available in FA. If we pass on him, or any of the other FA LT then RT will be sacked 50 more times this year. So for the extra 1 mill, he is worth it. We cannot afford to risk our QB at any cost. Sign him up and draft a Lt in the 1st 3 rounds as backup.

It'll be quite the start to the new season, with the resigning of Grimes and then the signing of Monroe.. If it happens of course!

Lets rent a backhoe and dig a moat around Tannehill. It would be cheaper than an entire new line and we really didn't have a run game last year anyways so it'll be all good.

Danny...I love her first place ribbon on her shoulder.:chuckle:

Dickey was the GM last season? And from what I've heard Long is not exactly what he once was, also if memory serves me, Long didn't want to stay.

I can't blame the FO for wnting to protect Tannehill's blind side. I hop we get hm but I also hope we don't do a Wallace type of contract (17mill fr one season)......if they can get someting like Grimes it'd be awesome.

Ozzy rules!!

It's worth $10 Million to make sure we don't have Tannehill turn into a player like shell-shocked Carr.

I never said Hickey was the GM. I blame it on the organization. He played pretty well for St Louis. Better than any oline we had on the roster last year... And he didn't leave because he didn't want to be here, he left because Ireland and Philbin didn't want him back.

Monroe isn't even a good run blocking tackle.... Not worth any of that money.

Incorrect.. He wanted to stay. Ireland made him feel unwanted.. Long has said that and Incognito has said that. Was he as good as when he started? No, but he was still the best offensive lineman on the team including Pouncey. I'm over him not being signed back, but I hate to see these stupid mistakes over and over every single year... We let our good draft picks sign elsewhere and sign some bloated contract warranting overrated free agent from another team. It's just not a good way to handle a team.

10m is an overpay I can live with, but over 10? no thanks
