Dolphins pursuing OL Roger Saffold

Albert is pretty darn good in pass protection. That was our main problem last year. Give me Albert and Saffold then sign Davin Joseph for depth. We need to fix the line up for the offense to hit its stride

If PFF says it is true, then it must be right.

Chill out man. Hayden is usually pretty insightful about players. I agree with you on Albert on this matter but no need to get your panties in a bunch

Ha ha maybe maybe not but he's the one that got offended that I didn't agree with him about Albert being elite (which he's not) and made his passive aggressive "I'm not going to get into an argument with you" comment.

You are right. I did get an argument with you. However, saying he is a "horrible run blocker" as he is on a line that is blocking for one of the best RB's in football is just silly. If he sucked that bad Charles does not go off like he did.

Anyways, my entire point all this offseason is that Miami needed to land a FA LT. Monroe, Albert, Veldheer or Collins is a must.

I told you I would make a run at Monroe before Albert and said that in my offseason plan thread. However, people that keep saying that Albert is sack of garbage are just plain wrong. He is a skilled pass blocker that if he were a Fin in 2013, they would have gone to the playoffs.

I don't think Albert is a sack of garbage, but given that his on field performance is a step at least behind Monroe's, he's 3 years older, and the fact that he has a significant injury history IMHO he should come in at a significantly lower price tag. Since we have 4 line positions to fill it might be why the early reports are the Fins front office is targeting him over Monoroe. They may feel Monroe's price tag would limit them from having enough scratch to fill other needs via free agency. I do like the Albert/Saffold combo if you get the guys at the right price because Saffold gives you some insurance at LT. And might save enough $ vs signing Monroe and another OG allowing us to sign a solid 3rd O-lineman in FA.

How old are you? 5? I posted something that agreed with my opinion and you make another sarcastic, passive aggressive comment.

I won't apologize for not agreeing with you. I'm also not going to say that PFF is the be all, end all of player rankings but there's something to be said to them not having him anywhere near their top 10

Didn't read your thread. I'm also, believe it or not trying to argue. I'll drop my dislike of the word "elite" with Albert and many other players. Its a term to me thats thrown around to often and should be left for those that are the best at their craft.

Now do I think Albert is an upgrade? Absolutely. Do I think he's the best option? No. Do I fear Miami could very well end up regretting signing Albert in 2 years because at the age of 31 his back is shot? Yes. Does last seasons epic disaster of an offseason weigh on my opinion? Absolutely.

It doesn't matter if they are average, good or elite, if they are in free agency and a team or teams are desperate enough they will be overpaid, it's simple supply and demand...

I thought the cat was already out of the bag and Albert was signing with Arizona. Has the general opinion on this changed now?

I'm sure Albert will make a few visits other than Arizona. He may like Arizona but he also may get an offer too good to pass up, from some other team.

Albert's guaranteed money will not be longer than three years. He might be a lesser risk compared to the commitment that a team would have to give Monroe. I could see Albert's deal being of two years of guaranteed money.

I could see Albert signing without a visit. Though I would think a physical would be in order for him before signing.

If people are concerned about injury with Albert then you need to be concerned about Saffold too. He has missed games both the last two seasons. Very talented though.

Albert got his damn knee rolled up last year. It is not like he was out of shape and that is why he got hurt.

I want balance, and albert being great at pass pro and below average at run blocking is not what Im looking for if Im the Fins, especially with the price tag its coming with... Id rather have a decent pass pro and decent run blocking guy at 6 MIL than Albert who isn't even close to a scheme fit...
