Dolphins request permission to speak with Gamble

love gambles work in san fransisco. if we could get some of that talent evaluation, and accumulation here... watch the **** out

I like our chances with Gamble .... if he is truly open to leaving Philly. IMO he would have no hesitation to joining Miami if he's open to leaving Philly.

Did he ever accept? Will we interview him? I think him and lazor would be money!

I have no idea what state of health his father is in but being on hospice care doesn't always mean the conditions are dire.

Actually it does. "Hospice" is end of life care.

What I meant was not every case is the patient on their deathbed. My wife is a hospice nurse and sometimes she has cases where she is basically baby sitting a patient with no serious health issues that has no one to look after him/her. She has taken cases and then a year later will see a patient she previously cared for.

Exactly. My grandfather was under hospice care a year+ before he passed on.

Hospice basically means that they are not actively treating the person's disease but are maintaining their comfort and current health status. This usually applies to end of life care but it doesn't always mean that the Reaper is hovering over their corpse. It generally is not a good thing at all, though...especially for an inpatient in hospice care.

Lovie has 5 winning seasons, 5 more than Philbin
3 postseasons, 3 more than Philbin
3 playoff wins, 3 more than Philbin
1 title game app, 1 more than philbin
1 SB app, 1 more than Philbin

He's had success in this league w/ mediocre QB play, something Philbin has not had success with.
i count SBs as success - that is all that counts - and that is why Lovie is gone fro Chicago and joe on the hot seat - get it

This is called nursing not hospice care then no? And while it may be true it is certainly not the norm in a hospice facility What you are referring to is someone palliative in a hospice - no? Palliative is near the end to but not necessarily going to die so quickly

Palliative care relates to managing the pain and quality of life for someone with a serious illness that is not necessarily dying. Hospice care relates to managing the pain and quality of life for someone who is dying (terminal). They are similar but not identical.

If Gamble's dad is in an inpatient hospice, he is presumably dying and they are no longer treating his disease to prolong his life. Essentially, they are allowing nature and the disease process run its course. They will make him as comfortable and happy as possible but when he will die...only the Lord knows that.

Well put.
If I may add....

There are several types of hospice care.
People are usually not accepted to inpatient hospice unless there is very little to go.
But...
There is also outpatient hospice(more common). That can take much longer to run its course.
You even can get taken by ambulance to a hospital for a malady if it isn't associated with the underlying reason for hospice.
Hospice mobilizes resources for people at home like skilled nursing etc. Its goal is to elminate hospital readmissions while allowing folks to die with dignity at home.

Bottom line it could be more months not weeks.

we disagree, it's hard to win a SB. 1 out of 32 does it each year. Miami has been to ONE postseason since 2002. Just making the playoffs would be a huge success. Carolina had a successful season despite not winning a playoff game. Lovie has had much more success than philbin.
