Dolphins sign Jamaal Westerman

Spot on. Additionally, JT tutored him during his season with the Jets in pass rush technique. The Jets derestricted Westerman because they have so many other FAs.Miami is spending their money on cost effective players who will contribute, leaving the rest most likely for signing Flynn.
 
you guys can laugh about this if you want to be but he does have some pass rush tools to work with...i don't know what the contract is but i can say that i like this kids edge rush tools...he's not a slug...problem with him though is he lacks consistency...anyways provided we didn't spend any real money i like the upside play here...he could be our situational edge rusher

has way more going for him as a pass rusher than trusnick who i told you after watching him in camp last year was hot garbage as a pass rusher...trusnick has what i call pedestrian pass rush edge tools...this kids definitely more talented in that regard than trusnick

not sayin i would go and think pass rusher is auto filled now but i am sayin this guys got some tools you prefer to have in a edge pass rushing olb...potential sneaky solid signing...and i'm guessing really cheap
 
He's actually got some tools as a pass rusher. Misi offers nothing in that area, so he's not bad to have.
 
b/t this is the guy years ago that junc tried to tell me was cam wake for the jets...and i laughed til it hurt about it...but in watching the guy he does have some tools...he's not cam wake but he blows misis tools out the water i can tell ya that on the edge...
 
this guy has amazing pass rush skills 36 games played 4.5 sacks what a stud
 
no doubt westerman lacks production which is what makes him a cheap signing anyways...but if you've watched this kid and you know what to look for he does show signs on tape of better than average pass rush tools...there's some edge explosion there...i think his biggest issue is he hasn't shown much variety with his pass rush...but there are tools there

if it doesn't pan out though no harm no foul...i doubt they're depending on him to lock it down

You have to remember what barnes had playing in front of him westerman had no real pass rushers in front of him and still didnt produce.

true, but the whole point is, some people just need an opportunity. i'm not predicting greatness here, but if he can help out as a situational guy, great. i don't think we're done as far as pass rushers are concerned.
