I honestly see no point in keeping 2 FB's on a roster. Clay or another player will need to take Hilliards spot on ST's

I like Hilliard. I think he's proven his worth. I just don't see him going anywhere.

We needed a 3rd string running back and Sheets/Hilliard/Grigsby were not cutting it. If LJ is half the player he used to be, how can you hate this signing from a depth standpoint? You have Bush and Thomas carrying the load, and then you sprinkle in LJ from time to time.

Plus as a Penn State fan, I love seeing the continued growth of Nittany Lions on the team. Worst case scenario is he gets cut after the final preaseason game.

He carried so much of a load for a few years and wore down. But, maybe with a year off his body has healed enough for him to have at least one more productive season as a situational back.

And the reality is, Bush is injury prone, and is playing at a high risk level the way he is attacking holes (I love it, but every play makes you hold your breath)

I could see LJ punching it in on goal-line situations...I don't think he is a fumbler and he always impressed me when he ran hard (assuming he still can)

As far as Ricky & Ronnie goes...
Ricky = butter fingers
Ronnie = break down coming

Getting rid of them was a move that had to happen.

I never liked the Thomas draft. He runs like a 30 something Ricky which is running without any power and goes down on first contact. The Johnson signing is an indication that they should have kept Ronnie. It's not like he was demanding a whole lot of money and you have a guy that you know. If Thomas would have punched it into the goal line we wouldn't be signing Larry. Thomas doesn't have that extra yard in him no matter what and that's what we need. We signed a guy that peaked his sophmore or junior year of college.

I Do not understand this regime at all. This move absolutely makes no sense to me. Larry Johnson is an aging, washed up, rusty RB. He's 31 and has averaged just 3.22 yards per carry on his last 361 NFL carries. We were also looking at Clinton Tortis?

Why not just resign Ricky or Ronnie (both > Johnson), instead of scraping the bottom of the barrel of cheap, has been Rb's.

If someone can please explain the logic of not resigning Ronnie or Ricky, and signing Larry Johnson please clue me in. Every day I loose more faith in this regime.

I think that they believed Thomas would be ready to carry the load, but he's a bit behind schedule...the lockout and new offense are limiting his development. If Ricky hadn't been picked up, I'm sure they would have re-signed him. I think Ronnie has less in the tank than Johnson with a year off.

I did like the pick. Imagine if we picked Leshore or Williams in the draft....both have had MAJOR injuries this offseason and will lose a step just from those injuries when they return next year.

going to be the third RB, so no big deal. But you talk about a guy who was run into the ground and LJ is the poster child for that

If this Oline and FB play isn´t fixed, we could sign a White Rhinosceros and he would not make it past NE uglies in the 1st game...

He singlehandedly won me my fantasy league.................5 years ago. Maybe he has a few snaps left in him, but I'm not even sure he'll make the final 53.

Shouldv'e just kept Ricky or Ronnie. It's not like this move is going to have a huge impact on the team, but it's still more ****in stupid planning on the part of the FO.

Larry Johnson - RB - Dolphins

Dolphins signed RB Larry Johnson.

It's a strange move. Johnson looked completely washed up with the Redskins early last year, getting cut following Week 2. He then went all season without getting picked up and received no interest on the open market following the lockout. That's because he's 31 and has averaged 3.22 yards per carry on his last 361 NFL totes. Despite Daniel Thomas' disappointing preseason, we don't see Johnson as much more than insurance -- if he even makes th
