always wanted Kalil who was chose just before him. Many said he was a better player when we drafted him , I never saw what they saw.

This is a sensible signing. It's like critics want to sign a second pro bowl center when the first one gets hurt in June. That's not realistic. No one is saying Satele is a stud. This is a survival move and it's common sense.

Steady play? Solid pick up? You do realize Satele was the worst rated center in the entire NFL last season!!!
 
Not excited about this but he's better than the other guys on the roster. IMO, this signing says more about the quality of the back-ups than the length of Pouncey's rehab

Bro if you going to shoot this signing down at least come up with a better name rather than making just a general statement. Is he the best no, but will it give us much needed depth, yes. We are in August and good centers are not standing on the corner with a cardboard sign looking for work. This team is doing the very best it can at this point in the season.

Well during the heart of free agency there were quality vets available that did not break the bank
 
He was signed as insurance. IMHO, Garner is the starter, but if something happens to him, we are really screwed. Satele is a a bad player, but at least he is a veteran.
I think they still sign another center after the final cuts. There is likely going to be someone cut.

Exactly. They needed two competent players who can play the C position. As it stood they had just one. Now they have two.

It was no brainer to sign Satele no matter who starts at C between he and Garner.
