Dolphins to release DE Merling

Timing is everything, and this timing screams to me trying to make people think we're drafting Coples or Cox (to incentivize the teams who want those players to trade up with J-ville, rather than people trading up for Tannehill). The next three days are going to be one long train of bull**** misdirection by every team. The real stuff won't start to leak until Thursday.

Unless there was another arrest or something like that it wouldn't shock me to see Merling resigned after the draft.

No big shock here. Miami keeps taking questionable guys with early picks, it's one of the main reasons we are average to below average every year. The second round seems to be especially bad for us. But hey like others are saying....REBUILDING. :up:

Yeah I don't get that. Just because the talking heads don't know what the plan is, why do they say that he doesn't have one?? That drives me bonkers. Should he post his team building schematic on Twitter? One thing I could say I like about Ireland is that he seems like a very detailed oriented, organized guy; In my industry, I've met tons of them so I know the type well. With that said, why would he not have a plan or a vision of his approach to building the team?

Go ahead and believe the obvious implication of moves made three days before the draft if you want, but in my experience you'll end up wrong more often than not.

Doesn't mean I'm right, obviously. You never know. But these guys sling so much **** this time of year if you want to divine their true intentions you have to assume it's all deliberately misleading to have a chance.

Didn't even show up. Merling basically cut himself given his history by not attending the (not-so)voluntary workouts.
