Dolphins union rep, John Denney, rips Wells report

Not for nothin, but how can Denney have an unbiased and fair assessment if he didnt read any of it.

Are you saying Incognito isn't a dumb, fratboy, douchebag?

or that Martin isn't a spineless, pampered, gender-conflicted, drug-addled, suicidal, bad-at-his-job, prideless, controlling mother-dominated snake in the grass?

If some other union player reps side with Denny and the Dolphins then it would matter. As it stands now the media is to involved in taking pot shots at the Dolphins what he says wont matter much.

Per post 36, I can absolutely vouch that Byu is like no other place on earth. I'm sure Soliai, Misi, & Shelby can attest.

If someone like Denney can handle the culture shock then anyone can.

I can't recall what Steve Young said about bullygate but his 2 cents would be enlightening.

Then, so would Ziggy Ansah's who went from Ghana to Provo to working w/ N Suh.

Soliai, Misi and Shelby went to UTAH not BYU.

How can you rip the investigation without reading the report?

Because the results of the report are very clear, the media has been spinning it. I would think based on that if you were there, on the team you would have very strong feelings even though you didn't read the report as well. After all he was there, in that locker room.

Never-mind I think to many ppl it's a bit difficult to understand how another man could bully another man in today's world with all the protection we have for the work place. The concept seems beyond silly to me.

Well.......It's hard to have an informed take if you haven't read the report.

I totally disagree. The report has been quoted and cited since it came out in the media. If I was in that locker room and was listening to the media's spin on this issue I would have an opinion one way or the other. And when you throw in the whole union aspect of this, I would feel a bit unprotected by that union.

Like I said the concept that anyone could be bullied as a grown man in today's world is just simply a non-starter to many. Especially when that individual more than knows his rights. This guy has TWO liberal lawyers as parents.

As a union rep, he should've read the report by now.

If he was just another guy, that's one thing. He's a shop steward, and when you speak, you are supposed to
have weight behind your words. When you admit that you haven't read the report, you admit that you aren't
fully informed before forming an opinion.

Reaction to media spin is simply feeding the beast.

A shop steward is supposed to be better than that.

The one point Denny makes that I find even more interesting is that if Wells investigated the entire league of teams, what would he find?

all kinds of ****.

I disagree. It is said you can read the intro and conclusion and get most out of any report. Any details you read are to support the findings.

But the problem here is that no one cares about Jmart and his problem. Its used as a tool to find "bad guys" and keep the story having legs.

but even then, you are hearing in the media the details and rinse repeat. You really dont have to read it. The media is telling you whats in it and focusing on its most negative aspects.

He'd find, for instance; Prince Aukamorwhaterver getting tossed in a tank of water because he was "Soft".

If you think self entitled boys are not going to be self entitled boys, you're mistaken

Well.......It's hard to have an informed take if you haven't read the report.

He didn't give his take of the report. He gave his take on the issue of bullying in the lockeroom. I don't believe he is required to read the report to give his opinion of what happened when Martin was part of the team.

Denney is right.

Denny is a knucklehead, he should at least read the report before saying it's trash, he was on M and M this morning saying he just read the report last night....all through the interview I am thinking why are these guys still talking, is there no one who can be a leader and say enough already....stop talking about it and the sooner this think blows over.....I can't imagine a Bill Parcels or a Bill Belicheat letting the locker room continue to voice there opinion on this argument that they're never going to win....

While I agree with your thought process......wouldn't it then be appropriate for the NFLPA to do their own investigation or expose the issues with the current investigation? Have I missed something that they have actually come out with an opinion on this?

In what I have seen of the NFLPA, the have even less credibility than the Wells report does. This is a media driven event from the beginning!

The NFLPA did conduct their own investigation. They announced it right after the NFL appointed Ted Wells. Jonathan Martin did not cooperate with that investigation.

GasPed is the kind of guy who actually believed the president when he claimed that if you liked your health plan, you could keep it.

Swing and a miss - I'm Canadian. ;)

Having said that, I would be the first to admit I'm not in tune with the American "sue first, ask questions later" culture, nor have I watched enough West Wing or History Channel to convince myself we're all just bit players in someone else's grand plan to rule the world. But I also think sometimes what you see is what you get - i.e. when you put a bunch of testosterone/drug-fueled idiots together, bad things will happen, and maybe one of them won't be able to handle it. That's what I see, and I think that's all we've got here.
