Don't be playing Tua, Cheetah and or anybody else of importance in the Pre-Season PLEASE!!!

If you look at the play the injury just as easily could have happened in practice -- non-contact. Beyond that -- it's a high risk sport and you can't baby players (especially players that need developmental time + reps in a new system) by keeping them on the sidelines. Bottom line, you either have a body that can withstand the NFL grind or you don't.

Tua is at least "suspect" in durability terms -- and there's no way he won't get exposed soon enough so get him on the field and get him the time reps and practice he needs.

Last point that seems to get lost around here is that this team hasn't proved anything yet. So we need the collective playing time as opposed to protecting something that's essentially unknown / unproven.

And -- looks like Wilson isn't hurt that bad. He'll be back in a few weeks at most.

I disagree....while injuries are always a concern, everybody needs the reps, and as far as the QB goes, they are untouched all TC. They need some real game contact to be ready for the season. You wrap them in bubble wrap all TC, and they come out week 1 and get injured on first contact (maybe not, but just as risky as playing a series or 2 in preseason).

The Dolphins can't play scared. They could just as easily get hurt in a real game or in training camp. The team needs time to gel and they only get that by playing in real time. Let the starters play together for a little bit, then use the rest of the game to figure out the depth chart. But you can't be keeping them off of the field out of fear.

Playing in pre season is important.

Remember that year there was no preseason due to the contract dispute?

Weren't there a heck of a lot of injuries in the first couple weeks?

Playing in the pre season In a way, also helps cut back on injuries. Calves, hammies, glute etc.

Play them like you normally would.

Starters for a quarter. Then we don't see starters again until the last preseason game where they play a half or more

I don't think Tua is in the position to skip the preseason games entirely, but I would be very frugal with him.

I would play him with the starters for 2 series or so in Game 2 and maybe 1 series in the next one, depending on how things went.

He(and the cast around him)do not have the experience to just skip ahead to opening day with zero game time.

Here’s what I remember about the no preseason year. That first month was when Josh Allen blew up and somehow without meaningless preseason reps that neither side bothers to prepare or gameplan for he was AFC offensive player of the month.

Last year they made him play a preseason game and their opener was his worst offensive game of the year losing to the Steelers.

Anyone of any value shouldnt play these games. They are beyond worthless.

Tua right now is injury prone. Not his fault at all. It happens. Rather wrap him in cotton wool right now for the season. Sure he will play a few drives in pre season but I think the new HC will protect him. Same goes for Waddke and Hill. They don't need playing time as much as others.

Come on! They gotta play at least a series or 2 in one of the preseason game. I’d say game 2.

He needs to play at least a series in each game. I’d personally start the game with the starters in first series every game just to get them use to playing games again.

The news on Wilson isn't season ending or anything close to it. They're shooting for opening day.
