Don't bet against Berlin

ive always been a fan of berlin.

theres no need to be an *** about, i was just posting a good article for dolphin fans and berlin supporters. u saw the title of the thread, u dont like berlin dont read the the thread.

First, I'll read whatever thread I choose, thank you.

Also, I was answering Nasty's question about "why so much love for Berlin" I dont think the question was meant solely for you, but to this general swelling of support for Berlin after he did fairly well (other than the terrible INT) against a group of players that probably wont even be in the NFL in a month.

Lastly, If you only want people that agree with you to respond to your posts, then perhaps you should use personal messages instead of posting in an open forum.

give him a chance. i rather see if one the three young qb's can be the qb for 4-5 years than starting gus who sucks.

Berlin has tunnelvision to the extreme. He never sees the nickel back, safety or off corner who can slide into position to make the play. If the receiver shakes his man at the line of scrimmage, Berlin wings it with no clue anyone else can enter the vicinity. That flaw was the culprit in virtually all of his 2003 interceptions at UM and caused the coaching staff to lose all confidence him the rest of that season, allowing underneath crossing patterns and little else. He was better in that regard in 2004, but it will never become less than a major weakness that prohibits him from becoming an acceptable pro QB, as evidenced on the final throw Monday night.

Let's not start crowning Brock Berlin just yet, but I do think he's worth a shot to keep as a number three over Sage.

Let's face it - Sage isn't going to do anything for us. Why keep teasing the guy. Let him go somewhere else and see what he can do. Brock is probably nothing, but he does have the tools and could develop someday into a solid QB! So why not give him a shot.

I mean - if we really have to depend on our third-string QB this year, we are in for a world of hurt. So why not give the spot to a young guy who COULD develop into a solid QB someday, rather than give it to a guy who is simply taking up a roster spot.

This is about where I am.

yes but you answered it in a huge sarcastic manner, obviously trying to make him look bad. i agree you have the right to read whatever thread you want and i'm not telling you what to do, i'm simply making a suggestion. i want anyone who's a dolphin fan to read the thread, not only someone who "agrees with me". i'm not gonna waste my limited pm's just to make you happy, sorry.

wasnt trying to make him look bad, just calling it like I saw it. I hope Berlin does well. I don't think he will anytime soon, but a year or so on the practice squad and he might find his way to an NFL roster somewhere.
However, I think its ridiculous that some people are suddenly oohing and aahing over a guy because of his performance against scrubs in a preseason game. People are saying he's better than Sage, or Feeley without taking into account the quality of the defense he was playing against.

He looked awful out there vs the bears. The interception was a horrible throw into double coverage in the endzone down by 3. NO EXCUSE! a qb can not play a team out of the game and that is what he did. He dose not have good arm strength, he is not a leader, and he isnt the smartest apple in the bunch, give me our three and cut this bozo!

With the exception of one interception, Berlin did not look horrible. He did plenty well. He made one stupid mistake. But who doesn't make stupid mistakes in the game? Barring the int., what made him look horrible?

o u mean like when feely single handedly lost us the broncos game at the end of last year by throwing a pick for a td, and then fumbling the ball the next drive to completely blow our chances? yea, i thout so.

umm sorry but the Dolphins lost ot the Broncos because McMichael cant catch a perfectly thrown pass to keep the last drive alive. Feeley didn't throw an INT for a TD in that game, which was probably his only game without one

I agree dump Sage and keep berlin. Atleast he has potential

No, he looked horrible. No zip on the ball, never looked to the right side of the formation on pass plays, locked into recievers way too much, and never looked at the coverage. He can not play at this level, heck he barely made it at UM, the only reason he was starting was they didnt have anyone else.

Brock Berlin's biggest strength is his accuracy. He's always been an accurate passer, completing more than 61% of his pass attempts at the college level. He also showed me that he puts nice zip on some of his throws.

There is no doubt that he has a long way to go, but he does have a good, accurate arm to work with.

What amazes me is that most of you who like to criticize Brock Berlin are the very ones that were salivating at the idea of drafting Adrian McPherson. Now, someone explain that to me. Berlin is and has always been a FAR BETTER quarterback than Adrian McPherson.
