DT Keith Traylor released

he will be better then timbo, timbo will not be healthy with a bulging disc at DT, Traylor is a one year deal and is healthy adds depth to the postion

alabi needs to bulk up. it would be great to see him develop in a nice LT
He's 6'5" and 310 lbs, but very lean with low bodyfat %. how heavy do we want him? I'd say that is about ideal size for a left tackle especially considering that such a high pct of it is muscle.

Actually that's perfect. His weakness isn't strength. 310 isn't a great weight for a LT if you want him to be dominant blocker like Ogden but it's ideal if you want a great pass protector, good run blocker.

We definitely need Traylor. No telling how long our DTs last. It also helps that instead of 5 DEs between 260-280 we have three DEs in that range this year, 3 DE/DTs between 290 and 300, and hopefully three DTs over 325.

As long as you dont draft that DT in the first round I say go for it. If you look at the past few years DT's taken in the first round have done a whole lot of NOTHING. Its just not worth it.

what?

Kevin Williams, Marcus Stroud, Shaun Rogers, John Henderson, even Vince Wilfork.

I'd love any of those players.

Shaun Rogers wasn't a 1st, but I can add Robertson to that list. Besides the best of DTs take a little while to really get into high gear.

I don't know. It is very hard to tell what Saban is doing with the DT position within the context of what we know of the DT position from our previous defenses.

I don't think Saban will bite on him.

Agreed. His idea of an effective DT is much different than Bates/Wanny/etc.

I wouldnt be opposed to a 6th Dt if I felt he was an upgrade over any of the 1st 5.
