Edds is a Patriot

I thought if any recent Phins draft pick was going to get cut it would have been Jerry. Edds has some potential so I was surprised they let him go so soon.
I was shocked, again I am not upset about the Pats picking him up. Its the philosophy of " Oh well our 4th rounder didnt start for me right away lets cut him" that drives me nuts. If we were an 11-5 team i would give them the benfit of the doubt. But if your cutting 4th round draft picks coming from a back to back 7-9 regime there is a bigger problem to be had.
Chubbs

Dr Brophy of Washington Uni and asst doctor to the Rams did a study of impact of injuries on NFL players career prospects.

ACL injuries significantly affected NFL prospects for defensive linemen and linebackers (P<0.05), though there were trends suggesting an effect on running backs, tight ends, and offensive linemen, too.

Analyzed separately, reconstruction of knee ligament tears significantly worsened chances of playing in the NFL for linebackers and linemen on both sides of the ball.

AJ Edds did not just have an ACL injury, he completely ruptured the ligament. I don't think he damaged his meniscus, which would have made things even worse, but linebackers and major ACL tears are not happy bedfellows. It sucks for Edds but the odds are not in favour of him being a productive NFL player and Miami doesn't have the need or luxury to keep him around while we all find out if a good young guy beats the odds, especially when he wasn't very athletic to start with.

We did not waste talent or picks. We cut our losses on an injured player.

are you a doctor now or did you just stay at a holiday inn thus an authority to make this definitive assessment???

Being an iowa hawkeye fan I can say this just went from disappointing to devastating.

You didn't watch the preseason.

I watched all the preseason as a matter of fact. So all of a sudden preseason means something? Funny when Henne was lightning it up most of the preseason, some around here were saying "Preseason means nothing. Let's see him do that during the season." Ok, fine, let's see the rookies do that as well!

Last season Brady and BB sat down and looked at film together for the first time in years. It's not Belichick running things on offense its Brady.

Was that before or after Tammy Brady invented the internet? I just want to get the timeline accurate here.....schmuck!

BB: OK AJ, whats new with the Miami Dolphins?

AJ: well, They are going to go 4 and five WR.

BB: REally? I did not know that (of course i did).

AJ: Yeah and they paln on using that kid Gates like all day.

BB: Really? I didnt think Sparano had it in him. So do they plan on going long alot (I kinda already knew this)?

AJ: Oh yeah, didnt you watch any preseason coach?????????

Are you an NFL coach now or did you just sit on Dan Marino's knee once, thus an authority to make definitive statements on just about every player, coaching decision, draft pick, play, rumor, innuendo, hearsay, quote and stat involving the Miami Dolphins???

Perspective. It can be useful.

I dont question most of this, but meniscus tear happens on a daily basis in the NFL. Why would that be more of an impact? AND, Meniscus tear has nothing to do with a ruptured tendon.

Just an honest question. I'm not a doctor, but have had meniscus removal, and had micro-fracture on same knee in March...scheduling to have other knee done in 3 weeks....

i would love for us fans to make our own channel and have our own level headed fans discuss with other level headed fans about what they like about their teams and where they can improve... that would be my dream

yeah...and my perspective is that your not qualified or privy to the information to make that kind of definitive assessment...it sounds like an opinion being spun as fact...but anyways the holiday inn thing was just a little joke

Sorry for lack of clarity, meniscus COMBINED with ACL is particularly bad, according to the Brophy study.
