Eight Types of Miami Dolphins Fans

I'm a eternal Marino fan. Who after years of false hope, refuses to be overly optimistic. As they say in Missouri, show me.

 I'm normally a pretty even-keeled kinda guy, but when it comes to our Dolphins ...

Well, my Dolphins-induced-bi-polar ass will readily cop to #'s: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, & 8 @ different points during every week of the season.

9. The Old Timer
A fan that has been following the Phins for 40+ yrs. and only has one wish in life - to see the Phins win another SB before he dies.

10. Out-of-Town Old Timer Realist
Followed the Phins as long as they can remember, including the 72' season, even though they are from another town and has watched the team long enough to know "real talent" and whether the current teams have any...

10. Beer Gravy Fan

This fan gets so depressed during Dolphins games that he drinks a beer gravy slurry hoping that he'll have a heart attack so he'll never have to watch another Dolphins game. This fan might also spend a lot of his disposable income on pound cake and body lotion.

Keep their sex life out of this.

:bobdole: Great!

Thanks, Wally ... Now I've gotta add another to my list.

Which one are you?
Entertaining article, pretty much nailing all of us on the head

"The Miami Dolphins are well into the preseason, facing off against the Buccaneers in Tampa on Saturday night. And that means football season is in full swing. And while kickoff is still a couple of weeks off, people are either excited, not excited, or just don't give a crap that the Dolphins are about to begin the first season of the post-Jeff Ireland era and the second season under Joe Philbin.
So while there have been some changes here (new GM, new offensive coordinator) and there (no more Richie Incognito or Jonathan Martin), one constant remains true: Dolphins fans are an eclectic bunch made of wacky characters, fanatics, and the aforementioned people who don't give a crap.
It's unlike any other NFL fan base, really. So, it must be broken down into categories.
Here now are the eight types of Miami Dolphins fans. Play along and see which you might fall under. Winning prize: a 7-9 season and an offensive lineman taken in the first round of next year's draft!"

 In the article, he calls #6. The Jaded Dolphins Fan, the most realistic fans...Hmm, the fans that normally predict Miami winning no more then 4 games, while most of the other type fans normally predict between 7-9 wins, yup very realistic...major fail right there in that article.

I'm the Dan Marino Era fan and i've moved very rapidly to Jaded Fan.

Put me in this group too. The Christmas day OT playoff win at Kansas City and the SB VI loss to Dallas were the first games I can remember and I've been supporting them ever since. Used to get the Dolphin pajamas and bathrobe from the Sears Christmas catalog, haha. Yeah, I'm old!

God, I remember those games. I guess that puts me squarely in the old-timer category. I am also the optimist. I am critical, over-analyzing, yelling at the TV; yet still the optimist.

I am #6 to the core. That category fits me like a glove. I have in large part given up on this team and only watch passively anymore with that faint "just in case" in the back of my mind.
