Emmanuel Acho going all in on Tua

Ahh yeah my bad, I didn’t see that part

But don’t you think going back to 2021 … we are once again back to the times of the questionable team. No run game, no OL, limited weapons, limited coaching…. Ehhhh
Ugh don't get me started. Our luck with the ol and the run game and now the freaking secondary??!!! I wanna shoot myself!!

Its vague because I dont see such absolutes that you speak of when considering such a young Qb and the already hi levels of play he has shown as a pro

I account for growth when projecting.

I thought he would be a very good Qb coming out of Oregon after a lot of film study on him becsuse our situation, i did want Tua first but was good with Herbert if we couldn’t get him.

So once i really study a player i usually stick with that projection until you see something you didnt see in your evaluation..

Did you see these fatal flaws in his first two years when he broke all the records ?

Also i will add to this debate there is not a bigger critic of Rivers career then myself, ive been saying for the past two decades the guy was a fraud..and every year he proved me right and every year i had to defend my position practically solo… so i feel i have a good idea of what your insinuating.

Now i will admit i watched a couome ganes this year of herbert and thought to my self something aint right..but because it was such a stark difference then what i saw previously im Inclined to believe its the i jury he sustained, especially because of the nature of his struggles
Did you watch Herbert when he played us? His OC was scared to have him throw past the sticks. The second the game got out of hand and he had to, the INTs started coming.

His knock in college was that he didn't have "it". He wouldn't make the plays in the 4th quarter to win the game for the supposed caliber of QB that he was. He's had far more moments where he takes a sack, fumbles, or throws an INT to lose a game in the NFL than he has making plays to win out, Raiders game last year notwithstanding because that game he was ridiculous at the end.

Acho is dead on! Some people see tall, fair haired, and rocket arm and are sold. They miss all the check downs, yac stats, and declining play in the 4th quarter. LA is in the third iteration of the same guy. Someone who will put up stats but never win anything if significance. Yay!

No I'm not denying that. His win loss record is definitely a good thing for us.

His wins have a much more to do with the fact that the wins are coming from complementary football at its finest. Whether it's the defense and/or special teams to seal the games. If its not them, then it's Tua. But really there have only been three games that we won BECAUSE of Tua... imo... Baltimore and Buffalo this year and Arizona his rookie year. The other aspect is we don't score much points with Tua at qb. For instance, according to teamrankings.com we are currently sitting at 19 in ppg at 21. The last three games averaging 16 ppg. The Chargers (since this is the origin of this convo) are sitting at 11th averaging 23.4 ppg. Not a big spread but in their last three games they are averaging 24 ppg compared to our 16. Now, we all know Tua wasn't playing those games so let's go back further. In 2021 Miami was sitting at 22nd at 20.1 ppg while the chargers were at 5 with 27.9. A much bigger margin.

At the end of the day, this only gives you a view of how powerful the offense is but W-L record is what matters. And Tua has the better W-L record lucky for us!!!

Well, here is a great example, defense was not very complementary in the 1st half, some players on offense early on, making mistakes and getting penalized, yet Tua and the receivers kept kept Miami in the game, and helped Miami win in the 2nd half.

It's those things that Tua does, that many other QBs so not do, and that's why Tua wins, he will not quit.

I have been saying since 2020 that I am happy they selected Tua instead of Herbert. Herbert is a good NFL QB but Tua is the better NFL QB.

The problem with Tua his first two years was Flores and his inability to support Tua and his lack of hiring competent offensive coaches.

Yup, today was a day where the offense did its job. Very glad to see.
